Location: I think the area is called Ribeiro - it's right next to El Born.
The place: Another small eatery with bar seating that runs a good length, and about three tables. Great vibe and the music is awesome.
The goods: Well. They do sandwiches - and I know! Why would you go out to dinner to eat sandwiches? Because of these guys. First, they serve you a small dish of the best [Spanish] olives EVER. You people know I'm an olive addict right? I wanted to find a massive jar of these and send them back home. Luckily, our waiter brought us a 2nd portion when my date realized I ate the entire first portion to myself. Oops. Anyway. I ordered the Banh Mi (served on fresh baguette and huge) and my date ordered the Sagas (served on toasted crispy bread). Good god. Best sandwiches ever. We shared halves so that we could each try both - I have no favourite. They're both awesome. We also ordered patatas Bravas (noticing a trend yet?) and this time, they were served in large wedges. Crispy and delicious! I had no room for dessert, which made me sad but this is was the start of my vacation so I' made up for it later.
Service: Great.
Price point: I think for everything (including one glass of wine and one mineral water), it was 30€...
Read moreExcellent Farm-to-Table Food, Wonderful Friendly Staff! A local person in El Born referred me to this restaurant on the edge of El Born -- just 1-2 blocks from the Franca train station, Parc de la Cuitadella, and Barcoleneta. The staff immediately greeted me warmly, made me feel very welcome, and had fantastic recommendations based on what I was looking for. I had Assorted Cold Sausages From Cal Rovira (which was delicious--all from the farms in or near the village of Sagas) (sausages were great on "coca bread" with fresh tomatoes, salt, olive oil, and garlic: sausages were “Bull blanc”, “bull negre”, “catalana”, “sobrasada”). For dessert, I had a delicious chocolate ganache (made fresh in house). The wine was also wonderful and complimented the meal perfectly (a Red which I think was from the La Rioja region). Extremely clean restaurant, fun decor, open and airy....
Read moreWe ordered bravas, Guernica sweet pepper, a New York burger and China pulled pork buns. The bravas are out of this world with their homemade romescu sauce. The sweet pepper were so awesome we didn't even realise how fast the whole plate was empty. The main dishes were also great, accompanied by a great variety of sauces. As dessert we ordered the lemon ice, which was very refreshing and nice, even considering we are not huge fans of 🍋. The presentation of the food is so great you might find yourself liking things you thought you didn't. The service is very friendly and welcoming, we speak English and Spanish and they attended us with no issue in both languages. Cozy terrace! Very recommended, we are totally coming back again during...
