KIM BBQ — Restaurant in Barcelona

We came as a group of 7 English/spanish speakers who had never been to a bbq before. The food was good but I feel like the whole experience lacked to give this five stars. It would be nice if the servers explained how the bbq works and how to cook the food, we was all a little confused. We was not sure how to turn on our ventilation as nobody explained. There is not a large wine selection, they just have house white/red which was was ok. The restaurant seemed to lack atmosphere however we did go on a week night evening with bad weather. It’s definitely not a romantic date spot but more of a fun, young place. I've been to a lot of Korean restaurants around Barcelona, and this has been a disappointment since tiktok accts has been hard selling this place.

Ambiance was good, feels like you are in a legit bbq place but chairs were way too uncomfortable. Service was ok but the staff could be more friendlier. Asked for an ice for my drink, and had to remind them even though we were only 3 tables being served during lunch time.

Food was meh. Kimchi was like left a lot of time outside and was served to us, was dry and looks unapetizing. Doekjang jjigae was like a normal soup broth you can do instantly. Japchae could have been improved, and the korean chicken was a real flop (I dont know but they have a taste of curry or cumin or something that wasnt much of...

I recently tried this Korean BBQ place w/ some friends, and honestly, it was kind of a mixed experience. The BBQ itself was alright...not amazing, but not bad either. Some of the other dishes we got were a bit disappointing. The kimbap didn’t have much seasoning, so it tasted pretty bland, the ingredients should be seasoned one by one. The ground meat was kind of weird too, not really sure what was off about it but it wasn’t great. On the bright side, the japchae was good and the kimchi pancake was decent.

Also, the restaurant was super hot inside, which wasn’t great since it’s the middle of summer. Overall, it was okay, but I’m not sure I’d go back...
