Cuines de Santa Caterina is a fantastic spot in Barcelona, offering delicious food and outstanding service in the vibrant Santa Caterina Market. My experience here was nothing short of excellent, making it a highlight of my visit to the city.
I ordered a variety of tapas and a fresh juice, and everything was absolutely delicious. The tapas were beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, showcasing the best of Spanish cuisine. The fresh juice was refreshing and perfectly complemented the meal.
What truly made my visit special was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive specially paloma, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. And a special mention goes to a very nice man who helped me the day before I believe he is the manger his name is Kika, his friendliness and helpfulness left a lasting impression. He went out of his way to suggest places to find the specific dishes I was looking for, demonstrating a level of service that goes above and beyond.
Cuines de Santa Caterina not only offers great food but also a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The combination of delicious dishes, refreshing drinks, and friendly staff makes this place a must-visit.
I highly recommend Cuines de Santa Caterina for anyone looking to enjoy authentic and delicious tapas in Barcelona. The excellent service and inviting ambiance make it a standout dining destination...
Read moreThis dining experience started off well enough, my daughter was craving paella and the host suggested the seafood rice so we sat down inside for dinner. Firstly for the tapas, I must say the fried aubergines(eggplant) was absolutely memorable, and overall the presentation of the food was excellent. The marinated salmon was good but, the stale cracker it came on and the inedible fried onions on top, brought the dish down. There were no complaints for the meat gyoza (not pictured). The avocado salad was pretty good but there was too much feta dressing for my taste. The shrimp tagliatelle (not pictured) was terrible and so was the paella because both dishes contained old, mushy shrimp that permeated the dishes and made my mouth itch. Additionally for the paella, the thin layer of rice gave rice a roni vibes. I let the staff know the shrimp were too old to be served but they didn’t care. We originally wanted to try desserts but after the disappointments of the previous dishes, we chose to leave. Our waitress also did several other tasks after we asked to pay the bill, like restocking glasses she went upstairs to get, and that didn’t enhance our experience. Despite the good items on the menu, the terrible ones overshadowed our meal, I personally won’t be coming back but I recommend NEVER ordering any dish with shrimp from this...
Read moreNice premises, but totally bad service. We visited this place based on recommendations on Tripadvisor, but were very disappointed. The personnel served my wifes main course first, then arrived with her starter. Both this and our daughters pasta bolognese was served within 3 minutes from ordering. However, I never received neither the starter, nor the main course. As I didn't want to have my food served after my wife and daughter had eaten their food, I wanted to cancel my order. One of the waiters then started to discuss, arguing that cancelling my order would be a problem to them. This annoyed me quite a lot. Everybody can make a mistake, but an apology would be more appropriate than starting a discussion expecting me to have the food (both starter and main course) after the rest of the company had finished.
The chaotic order of the serving seemed quite general, as the two british couples sitting next to us also seemed to receive their dishes randomly, and not at all at the same time as their company.
So I ended up eating the rest of our daughter's pasta bolognese, which at best was rather mediocre. (To be fair, I should say that my wife was happy with her chicken curry.)
To summarise: Nice premises, food quality seemed to vary, but sercvice was totally bad. Steer away from this...
