Don't waste your money on this place! I think that the only reason L'Entrecote has as many clients as it does is "Location, location, location". It is across the street from a fabulous 5 star restaurant which is always really busy and people who cannot get a table there, cross the street to eat here. That's what we did ... regretably. L'Entrecote offers a prix-fixe two-course meal for 22E. For Barcelona, that is certainly not "expensive", but there are so many restaurants where you can get a GREAT meal for less than that.

For the first course we were served a salad of limp butter lettuce with an unappetizing simple vinaigrette. Their attempt at making this uninspired salad more appealing was to sprinkle a few small walnuts on it. Two bites was all we could bother. We are both great salad makers, and so we know that there are so many lovely salads you can make with just a few ingredients to keep costs low. The chef needs to revamp their first course.

The second course was an even greater disappointment! Each plate had an array of thinly-sliced beef accompanied by a mountain of skinny, limp french fries! Ugg. Who eats like that? The meat was smothered in an oily, butter-pepper sauce which was palatable. But the beef itself was so terribly tough I did not want to ingest it. It would have been stuck for a week in my digestive system, and I did not want that! I chewed it a bit to get whatever flavor there was from it and then I discretely removed it and buried it under the huge pile of disgusting fries. And, if you enjoy french fries, you would never want to have these! They were so limp and luke warm, for me they were inedible. Simple fast food fries from either MacD or BK are far superior to these limp cousins.

My dining companion who has lived a long time in France said she thought it was typical drunken Frenchmen's food. Not...

We had to try this restaurant after it went quite ‘viral’ on the internet and we must say, we are fans!

We arrived around 15 minutes earlier than the restaurant would open. There was a queue, in front and after us. With good company the queue is not too bad. After those 15 minutes waiting we were seated, pretty much straight away. They asked us how we would like our steak, the choices: rare, medium or well done, nothing in between. Quickly afterwards we received the salad. The salad was quite basic but good enough.

Oh my god, and then we got the fries and steak. The steak was not chewy at all, lovely! But especially the in my opinion ‘garlicky’ sauce was sensational.

The fries were also very tasty, they asked multiple times if we want a refill for the fries. So many times that it made us laugh haha.

And of course the desserts! We had a chocolate cake and the caramel cream. The chocolate cake was tasty, the caramel cream was decent but not a winner.

A LONG story short, the food overall came VERY quickly. It is a good price quality ratio as it was so tasty (22 euros for a salad, steak and unlimited fries), but for us personally we could’ve easily had more steak. But maybe this was because it was so tasty.

The only thing is that the waitresses do give you the feeling that they want you gone after a while. For example, they gave us the bill and came with the pin device unasked and wanted us to pay even tho we were in the middle of our desserts.

So as everything feels quite in a hurry, if you want to go to a restaurant to stay for a long time, this is not the...

it is a bit of strange to write a review as such but I thought the new customers should consider it. please forgive me if I misjudge anything. I had a bit of taste the entrecote here, nothing extremely special but I must admit that it was fine cooked meat. although, the service, oh my god. I have never been treated as bad in my entire life. if you don?t purchase a menu for exact amount of people in the table you are not allowed to taste or get a bite from the food in the table. there is a policelike waiter who is making sure of it in a very rude way. imagine that you are being treated as a street dog trying to steal others food which you also pay for it. I would have accepted to pay extra since it was not in the menu size. rather than having suggestions to solve a problem of me coming late to table, I was asked to stay hungry and watch my friends. I left the table but I must say that we eat outside because we want to enjoy the food as well as ambiance. the hostile behaviour from waitresses made me think invaluable and degraded. As a dweller of Barcelona, I understand some restaurants are not looking for loyal customers but more one-time tourists that they think they can treat however. this is my experience, and I think everyone should know about it. Because it is not a cheap place that you expect to be...

I recently dined at L’Entrecôte and had a mixed experience. For €22, the meal started with a small salad that included a few walnuts and a basic dressing—nothing particularly special. The main course, an entrecôte, was cooked well and came with a flavorful secret sauce and unlimited fries, which I enjoyed. However, the portion of meat was quite small, and I felt it didn’t justify the price. Dessert and drinks were not included in the set menu. I ordered a glass of Bordeaux red wine for €4.50, which was delicious and paired well with the meal. The tarte tatin for dessert, priced at €7, had a very soggy base, which was disappointing. Overall, I left feeling indifferent. The meal was a bit overpriced for the portions and quality, but I appreciated certain aspects like the wine and the secret sauce. A solid 3-star experience—neither satisfying nor unsatisfactory.
