Our last night in Barcelona — and the last night of our European trip — was spent at L’Amfora Barcelona, and it could not have been a more perfect ending. From the moment we arrived, Michael, the owner, personally welcomed our family and ensured every detail of the evening was taken care of. When the owner himself is this involved, the experience transcends ordinary dining and becomes something unforgettable. We started with Crystal bread with aioli and tomatoes and ham croquettes. The bread was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly paired with the aioli, while the croquettes were golden, crisp, and creamy inside — comfort food elevated to perfection. Michael took the time to accommodate food allergies at our table, adding a level of care and attention that made the experience even more personal and memorable. For drinks, we enjoyed the sangria, smooth, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. It paired beautifully with our meal and added a celebratory touch to our final night in Europe. For the main courses, we shared both the seafood paella (loaded with shrimp and clams, smoky and rich) and the mountain paella (hearty, earthy, and rustic). Both dishes were phenomenal — true masterpieces of authentic Spanish cuisine. Each bite reflected skill, tradition, and care, making this meal one of the most memorable of our entire trip. To close the evening, I took a photo with Michael outside the restaurant, capturing a memory that perfectly reflected the warmth, hospitality, and exceptional cuisine we experienced. L’Amfora Barcelona made our final night in Europe an evening we will always remember.

A good friend referred us to this place, saying it served the best paella in Barcelona. When we walked up to the restaurant and the host, without hesitation, said, "this is the best paella in Barcelona". Now that's confidence. We ordered the lobster paella, as per the waiter's recommendation. It took 45 minutes to prepare. During which time we enjoyed some starters and sangria, while our kind host explained their seafood selection process, the cooking and baking process, and presentation and eating best practices. He was very thorough and knowledgeable, and we fully enjoyed hearing the history of the dish and everything that goes into preparing it properly. This restaurant knows paella. It is indeed the best paella I've had in Barcelona. It is expensive, but it is money well spent. The paella here has set the bar to which we will compare all future tasting.

I came here because I saw the review with “the best paella”. But it’s my worst paella I have eaten!! The shrimps and octopus are not fresh which lead the rice too bitter! I can also taste sands and small stone inside! Except that, the other flavor are too flat. There is flavor of bitter and fishing at my mouth after eating, which makes me feel uncomfortable. The croquette is not fresh as well though the flavor is good. But I can know that it has been fried before, and when we order, it fried again ( the color outside is so dark!) We came there late, but it’s not the reason that they provide the food is not fresh. We pay the same price with others!! At last, our bill is almost €100 for two people, but it’s like eating rubbish. I am so disappointed about everything. The only one star I given to the service. Not the food!

Recently, I had the opportunity to dine at a well-reputed restaurant in Barcelona, enticed by promises of the city's finest Sangria and Paella. The experience, however, left much to be desired, particularly when confronted with the exorbitant prices.

Starting with the Sangria, priced at a staggering 40 euros, it was indeed a delightful blend of flavors that momentarily justified its cost. However, the same cannot be said for the Paella, which, at a hefty 80 euros for two people, proved to be a significant letdown.

Despite the steep price tag, the Paella failed to live up to expectations. The dish was marred by an overpowering bitterness, making it nearly inedible. Adding insult to injury, the Paella was riddled with an unacceptable amount of sand, a culinary mishap that was difficult to overlook. The seafood portion was disappointingly sparse, featuring minuscule shrimp and a noticeable absence of substantial clams. This fell far short of the gastronomic masterpiece promised by the restaurant's reputation.

Although the service at the restaurant was commendable, with attentive and courteous staff, it couldn't fully compensate for the disappointing culinary experience.

With a total bill of 120 euros for Sangria and Paella for two people, the prices seemed outrageously disproportionate to the quality of the food. My advice to fellow diners would be to approach this establishment with caution, carefully considering whether the steep prices are justified by the overall dining experience. While the Sangria may be worth a try, splurging on a subpar Paella at such a high cost is not a wise investment. In a city with a wealth of culinary options, one can undoubtedly find better value for money elsewhere...

I think i had the most weird experience yesterday night, we went to google looking for a place to eat a good paella fine , cool, we found this Place then we decided to go there. Finally there the place was nice, all cool we ordered the food and some drinks, here things started to go downhill , the Paella came then the waiter gave me a little spoon to try it and that was awful the paella tasted way tooo fishy i cant tell why but it was too fishy for us , then he asked me what i think about it and i just said the truth, maybe I was a little harsh when giving my opinion but he asked me for sincerity, he went back inside and a few minutes later he came out he begged me to stay he promised me that they would make another paella for me and my brother then we said ok go ahead, and I have to say it was the best desicion i ever made, The next Paella Was really really good i even told the waiter IM GLAD YOU CONVINCED ME TO STAY that paella is what My broher and I came here for, …I Must say He was very Proffesional because in other case another waiter would have reacted angry at me because of what i said but he was calm, he kept it proffesional, very kind and he managed to turn something Really Really Bad into something good, ..Would i ever come back to this place ? Yes but if i ever come back i would like the Same waiter and the same paella otherwise not, 5 stars because of the waiter..Food need a litte bit of work...
