Clarification and Feedback on My Recent Experience: Sir, I regret that you minimize my experience and question my past visits to your restaurant, which is inappropriate and even pathetic on your part. I ate the entire replacement pizza, not out of satisfaction, but because I was hungry and to avoid further inconvenience. Just as a reminder, the original calzone was mushy. The table change was not due to simple heat on the terrace, but because of heavy heat and a draft, and the waiter’s response was far from professional. Regarding the drink, your remark that I did not order one is a personal choice that has nothing to do with the poor quality of the dishes served. Your insinuation that I have never frequented your establishment is insulting and unfounded. I used to come daily ten years ago when your kitchen clearly deserved its excellent ratings. In fact, I recognized the tall waiter to whom I award the sole and only star for his impeccable welcome. We even talked together about the fact that he was already working there 10 years ago. Just read the other reviews to see that I am not the only one noticing this huge drop in quality. I urge you to take these remarks into account instead of denying the real decline in quality observed by many other customers. My first comment: My return to La Piazzenza after 10 years in Barcelona, hungry and eager, was a culinary disaster. What was once a daily delight was now barely edible. It's clear your average rating of 3.9 reflects a significant drop from the 4.7-4.9 I remembered a decade ago – and my experience explains why. I ordered a "big size" vegetarian calzone (16.60 eur) that was tiny, mostly mushrooms, and incredibly salty with a gooey texture – nothing like the traditional dish I remembered. It was mush and looked like vomit. The manager outright denied my concerns about the cooking and the content even though it was clearly different. He blamed Roquefort for the salt, ignoring the rest. " It has always been prepared like that" he said. This is totally false. The replacement Piazzenzza pizza was equally bad; I forced myself to eat it as I was hungry. I won't go into details, but I can confirm what many other negative reviews mention about the quality of the pizzas. And to top it off, a request to change tables for air was met with sighs from the short waiter. I wish I could go back in time to the delicious meals La Piazzenza used to serve. This restaurant is a shadow of its former self. A huge disappointment, especially when you're hungry! The one star is solely for the tall waiter, who was extremely welcoming and funny. As for the food "...
Read moreOverall the food is excellent! For this quality the prices should be way higher. The services is grear if you are served by Jóse, Leila or Mariano (the boss) but my 4 stars are based on a bad experience I had with a waitress called LADY, she was very rude and disrespectuf. We've been visiting Barcelona once a year (for the last 13 years) and we stay here about 7 days, we have dinner ONLY on this Restaurant (during the whole 7 days), they all know me and my family but this "Lady" asked me to leave because she needed the table when there was no one waiting for table... I was having a business meeting in the "terraza" and after about an hour of being there (consuming, of course) she kindly asked us to leave, I told her I needed just 10 more minutes to finish my meeting and she said "No, I'm sorry, I need the table". I asked her to call the owner but unfortunetly he wasn't there. It was very unprofessional and sad at the same time to have gone through that ugly and uncomfortable moment.

From the moment you walk in, the warm buzz of conversation and clinking glasses invites you to slow down and savor what’s to come — and what’s to come is spectacular.
The menu is a love letter to tradition with a modern wink. Think melt-in-your-mouth jamón ibérico, blistered padrón peppers with just the right hint of danger, and patatas bravas that deliver a crispy, spicy punch. Each plate is artfully presented and perfectly portioned for sharing — though you may want to keep a few for yourself.
What truly elevates the experience is the attention to detail. The staff are as passionate as they are knowledgeable, happy to recommend the perfect local vermouth or Catalan wine to complement your spread. Their timing is impeccable, service never rushed — just that relaxed, intuitive rhythm that makes you feel like you belong.
In a city bursting with tapas bars, this one stands out not by trying too hard, but by getting everything just right. Whether it’s your first visit to Barcelona or your fiftieth, this place is pure magic — a culinary postcard you’ll want to keep revisiting.
Last thing add Paul the waiter was excellent...
