Restaurant H83 — Restaurant in Barcelona

The ambiance and buffet is the best bang for the buck, compared to Maguro near the Arco del triunfo and Fukuya 8. The only good thing about Maguro, other than their ambiance is being able to order via a tablet other than that the sushi rice had too little seasoning and their soy sauce was too bland. Service was very pushy trying to get us to order a drink for our companion who was still to arrive, which I've refused. Fukuya 8's ambiance is a typical Chinese restaurant. Their nigiri has too much rice compared to the topping. The seasoning for the sushi rice strangely changed from too little vinegar to just enough as the evening progressed. Their tempura prawn was too greasy and the batter was also not as light and crispy as you'd expect from tempura batter. You're also limited to 2 portions of each sashimi dish each per person.

OK on to what's good about H83: The ambiance, lighting and interior decoration is the best compared to those above. I'd recommend H83's nigiri and gunkan above their maki sushi which tend to have too much fried unions on top. You can order as soon as you've finished what you've ordered. Should you need an order form you can ask the waiter if you haven't been offered one yet. Their skewers, chicken and prawn, are good as well as their battered prawns and mushrooms on a plate. The takoyaki unfortunately has a well done center which is not how I like them. Another unfortunate thing is their lack of juice when we came, but luckily we could order tea instead. Just keep in mind it's a cup of tea and not a jar. ;-)

Lastly the waiter was kind enough to explain the difference between the afternoon and evening buffet. And also offered the option to take the evening buffet if we insisted on having items above #61.

Tl;dr. Terrible bathroom. Dish cleaning in public view. Sushi is B+ at best (salmon heavy). Service passable. But it is a buffet so quantity can be high and some dishes are good.

Sushi buffet restaurants are difficult. Sushi is expensive, and small. So a restaurant has to find that balance with offering food that won't break their balance sheet, but will still satisfy guests. I don't think H83 does it great.

Notably, little of the sushi strays beyond salmon and shrimp (cheaper fish). The takoyaki has LOTS of batter and little octopus. Ditto xiaolongbao. But it's not all bad. The salt and pepper shrimp is excellent. The grilled meat is small in portions, but it's tasty and neat to grill yourself. Shrimp skewers weren't impressive. And the decor was all over the place.

Like... the men's restroom was pretty terrible. There were tons of restaurant materials near it (i.e. sodas and drink crates). A waitress, while we were there, pushed a crate out to serve from it. The restroom also had no door handle? Weird stuff. Also, they collected dishes out in the open, literally by front door. It takes away a lot from the place. On the other hand, there were tons of aquariums in the restaurant that were pretty and kept well enough.

The seared salmon is good. Nigiri is mostly fine... B+ in freshness and taste. If I lived in Barcelona I may go a few times a year. But it's not a very nice or clean place, with service a bit slow (which is fine for a buffet I guess). Some dishes never came. But for price point and the fact that it's a buffet, it's pretty good to be able to order so much sushi, of different varieities, even if it's mostly...

A Very bad experience of service, one of the waitress, she was really out of control Coz i asked to clean the table, she tried to push almost out of the garage restaurant, just coz was angry for me to ask a different table, she supposed I was drunk I dunno, but was my second time, there, first time she was very rude with me, ans and this time not reasons, just for not simpaty I believe, this time she was same, also how I asked to clean the table, she went to the entry kitchen having bad mood almost screaming in front of the others customers, and ask me tonleave, I left straight away, never ever in my life I'll come back, she is an angry poor soul, needs a bit of serenity in her body, a very snake of a person. I'm very sad that I decided to go to spend my money in a place where people treats customers SO RUDLY! ZERO STARS FOR THE RUDENESS!! SHANE ON YOU GIRL!!!!
