I just had dinner here with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed just about everything. We started with the cheese board which had very delicious jammy triangles and four varieties of cheese. The cheeses were solid but not exceptional and none of them were super adventurous. Jammy-triangles were the surprise champion of the initial course and they were genuinely lovely. For the main course I ordered the Argentinian ribeye medium rare with French fries and I added a side of grilled vegetables. My partner ventured for grilled monkfish with asparagus and truffled mushrooms. My steak came out looking quite rare in my opinion, but felt warm throughout. There is also a hot stone served with the meal to quickly sear the slices of beef if you so desire. Initially, the hot stone struck me as a gimmick, but I soon realized it had redeeming qualities. The meat is grilled and has a delicious charcoal aspect with minimal sear and a quick sear of a slice of steak on the hot stone drastically improves the quality of the sear while retaining the charcoal flavor. On the side, the fries were perfectly crispy and well seasoned. These two items were truly the highlights of the meal. The grilled vegetable side consisted of roasted red bell pepper, zucchini, roasted green bell pepper, potato wedges and egg plant. This is a bit of a pet peeve of mine and I understand this annoyance is of little consequence to most people, but 4/5 items in this list are fruits and not vegetables. They were prepared adequately and seasoned simply. Nothing to write home about here. Monkfish is a favorite fish of ours and this dish in particular was quite nice. Cooked to perfection, the fish was moist and seasoned simply, letting the natural lobster-esque flavor shine through. Grilled asparagus and truffles mushrooms accompanied the fish and they were unfortunately quite terrible. The asparagus had no heads at all and some of the pieces had too much of the stalk which is completely inedible. We believe the mushrooms were coated in truffle oil prior to grilling and that the oil burned because the had a sooty quality and utterly lacked the flavor of truffle. I am not exaggerating when I say that these are the worst vegetables I have ever been served in a restaurant. We finished off our experience here with tiramisu that bordered being exceptional. A well executed classic is a welcomed end to any meal. No meal is complete without mentioning the service, which we both felt was better than most we have experienced in Spain. We'd like to thank both the hostess and our server for their help as well as for their excellent command of the English language, for our Spanish is utterly terrible. We would most definitely dine here again.

You feel the atmosphere of La Selva before you even sit down. The name means "The Jungle," and they have absolutely nailed the aesthetic. Dim lighting, lush greenery everywhere, and a really cool, energetic vibe. It’s the kind of place you book when you want the setting to be part of the experience. Our evening started with a bit of a hiccup – my mistake, I'd actually booked their other location! Despite being visibly busy on a weeknight, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, finding a table for my partner and me without any fuss. A huge plus for that kind of service. They even brought over some complimentary Edamame beans while we looked at the menu, which was a pleasant surprise and a lovely touch. We started with the beef croquettes and the beef carpaccio, and honestly, both were phenomenal. The croquettes were perfectly crispy with a rich, savoury filling, and the carpaccio was delicate and flavourful. It set a really high bar for the main course. This is where things were a bit more of a mixed bag. For our mains, I had one of the sirloin on the bone steaks. I loved the presentation – they bring it to you with an accompanying sizzling hotplate so you can finish cooking each slice to your liking. It’s a great, interactive touch. However, it was so busy that the staff seemed quite stretched. This meant the service, while still friendly, wasn't as attentive as you'd hope for. When you're paying around 39 euros for a steak, you expect the steak to be a showstopper, but it was just good, not great. Unfortunately, the little things let it down. My chips were lukewarm and had that distinct taste of being re-fried, and the bottle of still water we ordered arrived warm. A small detail, but you definitely expect chilled water when you're paying for it in a restaurant of this calibre. Overall I'd say that it's quite overpriced for what you're getting, and the clientele were a broad mix which made for an interesting experience. Overall, La Selva is a fantastic-looking restaurant with a brilliant atmosphere. The starters were genuinely top-notch. Would I go back? Yes, I think I would, but perhaps I’d try visiting on a less frantic night. It's a solid 4-star experience that's just a few small refinements away from being a 5-star knockout. Worth a visit, especially if the vibe is your main priority.

A nearly perfect dining experience ruined by an unprofessional server. Drawn in by the restaurant’s sophisticated jungle-inspired design, I decided to book a table for my parents last night. They praised the delicious food and the captivating atmosphere, which is evident even from the photos. Throughout the evening, the staff were attentive, and the service was excellent. However, as they were leaving, having paid the bill, leaving a decent tip, and exchanged smiles with the other staff, the waiter who had served them most of the night suddenly stepped in front of them, rudely demanding that they go to the counter to settle the bill, as he mistakenly assumed they had not paid. My father showed him the receipt, explaining that payment had already been made. Despite this, the server doubted him and insisted on double-checking. He radioed his colleague—the one who had actually processed the payment—while my parents stood there, embarrassed, as other diners watched what was happening. This situation could have been easily resolved if the waiter had first checked with his colleague or verified the payment in the system, rather than jumping to conclusions that two senior people might leave without paying. Unfortunately, this awkward and mishandled encounter left a bitter aftertaste, for what could have been a flawless evening at an otherwise pleasant restaurant.

If you’re an influencer looking for the perfect back drop for the gram, look no further. If you’re looking for excellent food & friendly attentive staff look elsewhere. This restaurant ruined our last night in Barcelona, celebrating our bride to be!

I made a reservation here for my best friends hen do after reading glowing reviews & seeing this place plastered all over “Barcelona TikTok.” When we first arrived at La Selva (Corsega) we were in awe of the decor, the place looks incredible, an influencer’s dream, however this soon went downhill when the food started arriving.

One member of our party is pregnant, she explained to staff that she must have her steak well done, due to being pregnant & made this very clear to several members of staff. The steak first came out medium rare at best. It was then sent back and explained again this member of our party is pregnant, she cannot have bloody steak. Again it came out, unchanged, our preferences were falling on deaf ears. The steak then sent back again. Again came out again still bloody and still pink. Our friend was then asked to continue cooking the steak on one of the grills by a waitress. Paying over €30 for a piece of steak that she needed to cook herself.

Another member of our party ordered her steak medium rare, this came out onto the table ICE COLD, we were sat opposite the kitchen. We explained this to staff, they argued with us. We sent this back to the kitchen. The kitchen then prepared a fresh steak and bought this to the table, this new steak was RARE. Even worse than the steak beforehand.

When we tried to explain our upset and frustrations to the staff they became aggressive, unhelpful & defensive. Telling us that we need to grill the steak and this is the restaurant speciality. However if this was the case this should have been explained, our preferences should not have been taken as to how we want our steak cooked & steak should have all arrived rare for self grilling.

The manager eventually came over after we kicked up enough of a fuss (long blonde hair, slim build, Spanish, dark eyes) she was extremely aggressive, rude & degrading.

For this place to identify as a “steakhouse” is a joke. Avoid...
