You can do better. Really, you, potential customer, find another restaurant. As for you, owner, you can also do better.
4 of us visited the restaurant early June. Booking went fine, finding the spot easy, place looked good.
That was about as positive as I can be about our experience. It all went downhill from there. We vistied 3 restaurants with michelin stars that week, and our expectations were in line with the 2 other visited.
Ambiance: they had this oh so loud music, from the 70's USA, which was anything but good nor fitted the tone and experience they were trying to get us into.
The service was up nose, and we had a round of people coming and going to our table, we're still not sure to this day who was our waiter. They did a little show at one of the plate by cooking by the table, this was adding very little and the result was not even tasty.
You choose to go to those places, spend as much money, to have an experience, where at its root, is food. The food was not good. and I mean, not only were we not impressed, but it tasted bad. And no, it is not because we're picky. The mix, the result, was blend at best, terrible sometimes.
We decided to get the wine pairing. The choices were not good, and had so little wine poored that we ended up ordering a side glass of wine. No, we're not alcoholic, but look at the picture i posted and see by yourself how much wine we got for every 2 plates served throughout the night.
I'm sure this restaurant was awesome when it started, but as some michelin restaurant faced before, they lost themselves.
Sorry for you, owner or employees reading this. I wish I could tell you i had one of the best experience in my life, like I did in the 2 other michelin restaurant. But I didn't. I will not disclose the name of the 2 other restaurants to make sure you won't think they had something to do with our review. Also note that Mont bar was not a little bit more, but actually twice as more expensive compared to both other restaurants, including pairing.

Probably one of the most memorable meals I've had in Barcelona. All the dishes were creatively executed and beautifully presented. You can immediately tell their ingredients were freshly sourced & curated that made each plate into a colorful piece of art.
Initially I wished the portions could be bigger, but then remembered they're tapas. (Each dish was that good and each of it ended too soon!)
What we ordered: Natural Oysters Sea Urchin & Smoked Stracciatella Vol-au-vent Millefeuilles, Wagyu & Foie Razor Clams a la Donostiarra with Ponzu Tuna Belly with Pine nut Emulsion Iberian Suckling Pig with Cantonese sauce Service: 5/5
Service was consistent throughout the entire experience. Staff were warm, welcoming and closely on standby at our table for requests. Atmosphere: 4.7/5
As the name states, the indoor space is a bar restaurant with a smart-casual but warm vibe. With hints of wooden furniture/shelves, various warm lighting elements, a long countertop bar, somewhat a busy crowd (since it's fully booked) but circulation wasn't a problem.
Great place for an intimate date night with a social setting. Unless if it's with a friend/colleague, I would prefer the bar area (More casual and interactive). Overall Score: 4.9/5
This is a 1-star Michelin restaurant so a prior table reservation is advised. I highly recommend this to anyone who is planning a visit to Barcelona. I myself would definitely come back to try their other dishes (and wine pairing) since their menu is seasonal. Overall, Mont Bar does not dissappoint....
Read moreCame here for the tasting menu and the food was great, though I’m not sure why it’s called Mont (Mountain) Bar when most of the dishes are from the sea. We enjoyed most of the dishes and there were only a couple that we were not convinced about.
The staff were very attentive, always making sure our wine and water glasses were filled. However, some servers were definitely more friendly than others. Explanations of the dishes felt quite rushed and with some hard to understand accents, we didn’t understand what we were eating half of the time.
The decorations of the restaurant are nice, though it feels quite small and not intimate at all. The crowd was varied with no dress code suggested or enforced, so we felt more like we were in a tourist spot than an exclusive restaurant.
We were sat in high chairs, which was uncomfortable and sat next to the door so we felt the cold every time someone opened it. The restrooms lacked any amenities that you would expect to find in a fine dining restaurant such as hand lotion.
Finally, at the end of the meal, when paying by card it asks if you want to leave a tip. Considering a meal comes out to around €200/person, I find this trashy and unrefined. If I want to leave a tip, I’ll tell you. No need to ask for it.
Overall, the food was great but at this price point the lack of attention to detail really detracts from the experience. I would rate our experience 3.5 stars out of 5, though I’m giving the benefit of the doubt and leaving 4 stars due to the exceptional food and...
