Here, the client doesn't matter - it's only about making money.
Just visited this place and ordered a latte extra hot. When I picked it up, I kindly asked again if it was made extra hot. The lady with short curly hair replied, "As hot as I could make it.ā Unfortunately, the latte was barely warm. As I was leaving, I mentioned - politely and with disappointment - that the drink was not extra hot. She responded again, āIt was as hot as I could make it.ā I said, āIt didnāt even reach the recommended 64 degrees a coffee beverage should have. Perhaps using a thermometer could help.ā Her reply was rather dismissive: āAdieu.ā Adieu? What kind of way is that to treat a client? What can I say? One star. The coffee itself tastes good, but the service was truly disappointing. Here, the client doesn't matter - it's only about making money.
Unbelievable - the owner responded to my review just like the staff did: no apology for the bad service, just some irrelevant excuses. Let me say it again: the coffee wasnāt even warm! What are you talking about with your 55ā65°C claim? Milk doesnāt burn at 60-65°C. Other coffee shops manage to serve coffee thatās warm - even extra hot. You donāt. You still have a lot to learn about providing good service.
And hereās yet another sign of poor service: A good owner would respond to my review by saying, āHey, why donāt you come by again? Let us show you that we actually can make a great coffee - just like we claim!ā But is there such a response? No,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI must admit, I write this review reluctantly as it will increase crowds, but out of respect for the wonderful people at Origo Bakery, I will write it.
I have been a customer of Origo Bakery in Gracia since I moved to Barcelona two years ago and consider it to be the best available baguette in the city. Recently, they opened up a second store on Sant Pau and it is that location where this review applies.
The Sant Pau store is a very different experience than the original store in Gracia. The original store is tiny, wonderful and the people there are always kind, but it is not a place to have a coffee and sit down and relax for a few minutes.. But the store on Sant Pau is a place where you can come in, find a pastry, buy some incredible bread and enjoy a cappuccino or coffee. There are some seats and a counter near large windows highlighting the actual bakery. It is not a full cafĆ©, but very nice nonetheless. And the staff welcomed us the moment we walked in the door and the charming barista made me a fabulous cappuccino that I enjoyed with an outstanding ham and cheese filled croissant⦠The very best Iāve had in Barcelona!
Bravo , Origo Bakery! I really like your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I had found this place earlier. Iām literally writing this review while sitting inside the bakery because I just love it so much. As a person who cannot drink coffee due to health reasons, Iām used to getting disappointing chai and matcha from coffee shops, but this place is different. The chai latte with oat milk that I got was richly spiced, creamy, well-brewed, sweetened just right, and warming. The cardamom bun was as tasty as what I had in Stockholm. The slight saltiness contrasts well with the sweet, spiced filling. The interior of the bakery is beautifully minimalist, and the restroom was clean. The service was excellent and friendly. The only downside is that thereās not much seating available. However, everything else more than...
