Perikete is exactly what you hope to find when wandering the streets of the Gothic Quarter — cozy, vibrant, and bursting with authentic Catalan flavor. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm, friendly service and a lively, unpretentious atmosphere.
The tapas were outstanding — especially the jamón ibérico, padrón peppers, and the creamy croquetas. Each dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented without being overdone. Their wine selection is excellent too, with a strong emphasis on local Spanish and Catalan wines. We tried a few reds by the glass, and the staff was happy to recommend pairings.
One of the highlights was the live music in the evening — it added a wonderful, rustic charm to the whole experience without feeling too touristy. It’s the kind of place where locals and travelers mix easily, and you feel right at home even if you’re just visiting for a night.
Definitely recommend arriving early or being ready to wait a little — it’s a small spot and fills up fast, but it’s absolutely worth it. Perikete is now on our must-visit list every time we come back...
Read moreThe place was fantastic. The recommendation came from Mo, a lovely friend of mine living in Barcelona. Seems like it is a known spot between the locals and not. We could not manage to make a reservation so we went straight there. At first the waiter that greeted us told us there is no place and when asked to tell us by when he thinks we will get a place he just ignored us and left us there waiting in the straight. We started searching for another place however another waiter just came out and escorted us to the table and this is where everything changed. The new waiter was just lovely and took very good care of us. The food is something impressive and the price is right. The atmosphere was cordial and the place gave the vibes of a real tapa place with the guy at the counter cutting strips of beef and cheese right in front of us. If I will come to Barcelona again (and I will) I will surely...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience with one of the staff members at Perikete. When we arrived as a group of seven, a curly-haired woman with glasses greeted us at the entrance. We asked for a table, and she immediately said there was no space inside and that she couldn’t accommodate seven people outside. We politely offered to sit separately at different tables, but she responded with an extremely rude and unprofessional attitude, saying things like, “Who are you trying to fool?”
When we asked for her name, she refused to tell us and responded aggressively, saying, “Why do you need it? I can’t tell you.” Her behavior was incredibly disrespectful and completely inappropriate for the hospitality industry. This was by far one of the rudest encounters we’ve ever had at a restaurant. We were shocked by how unwelcoming and unprofessional she was. Such a...
