Restaurant La Tagliatella — Restaurant in Barcelona

Cute place, nice food - horrible service (or the typical service standard for Barcelona (lack of care, kindness, warmth, grace, emotional intelligence and hospitality)).

First weird thing was the young waiter brought us our cutlery, but he only laid down the cutlery for the plates near him, but for the plates across the table instead of walking around the table he just threw the cutlery across the table so it landed next to the plates. He then shrugged and walked off...

Then, they brought us different food to what we ordered, we pointed this out, they said "well the kitchen is closed now so you have to eat it but we will give you some bread and it'll be more or less the same experience". We said no we want what we ordered, they argued again that this is all we can have. So we said ok cancel the order, so then suddenly the waitresses said ok I will talk to the kitchen and get your food prepared. And like magic 10mins later the food we ordered arrives.........? So they could have made our food all along but chose to try and serve us something different for no reason..... probably the dumbest waitresses in the world.

Have eaten here quite a few times but on our last visit yesterday we came at 19.35 while the restaurant is opening at 19.30, one girl was putting cutlery on the tables outside, we asked if they are already open and if we can sit outside. She answered that yes and that we can choose one of the tables, so we did that. She did not give us the menus, we were waiting for 10 minutes, no one was coming to us. Then another girl comes, without the menus and starts speaking Spanish with the annoyed voice, my friend speaks Spanish but I don’t and I told her in English that sorry, I don’t speak Spanish. She stops for a second and than says in Spanish again (my friend translated for me later), “Anyway, you have to come inside first, before sitting outside”, then left us in a little shock and came back pretty much throwing menus at us. Come on guys, it is not okay to treat customers like this, even if we did not ask for the table before (which we did). Too bad I did not see this girl’s name. After this experience we did not want to eat there anymore, so we just stood up and left. Giving 2 starts just because of the previous okay...

Yesterday I went there to have my lunch and for God's sake, I dunno WTH I ate but from yesterday afternoon / night and until now, I'm dealing with a very serious food poisoning. I've been living in countries with more than dubious cleaning prococols to say the least and yet I never got it so seriously. Really, something was wrong with the food. I was all great the whole morning and was right after the lunch there and then, after few hours working at afternoon, all of a sudden I felt an incredible pain in my stomach, even needed to go to the urgencies. Now 24 hours later, still don't dare to eat enything and still dealing with the w.c.

Surely isn't something happening daily there, (otherwise they should have closed long ago or get denounced) but anyway, yesterday, they gave me something in an extremely bad condition and kitchen had no protocols / filters good enough to avoid this thing happen. Time to review their sanitary protocols and how to avoid that something poisoned keeps within the chain and even reach the customer's plate.

Really terrible experience and still feeling horrible after one...
