I was here for lunch during weekend. Unfortunately, the very first impression was not very good. When we arrived, we had to wait around 5 minutes for the waitress to even tell us if they have a free table or not. When seated it took another 5 minutes to bring us the menu. We ordered two meals. After 40 minutes of waiting I started to feel upset. Since I was engaged in conversation the whole time, it didn't feel so long, but my stomach reminded me. Another waitress came and asked if we had ordered a food. Five minutes later she came back with apology for long waiting time explaining that they are very busy. Finally the first meal arrived after around 1 hour from the order. I need to emphasise that it was only one of the meals and we didn't even get the cutlery. We needed to ask for it separately and it took the waitress another 5 minutes to bring them. We were told that the second meal (for me) will be at us immediately. They managed to do so after another 10 minutes.
To sum it up, I had to wait almost an hour and a half to get my meal. We didn't get any proper apology or service, no discount or free drink. The food was not very hot. Even though it tasted good, I cannot say it was something special.
Overall, very bad experience and I wouldn't recommend...
Read moreExcellent food, polite and friendly stuff and afordable prices for authentic Peruvian food in the center of Barcelona. We ordered one starter degustation plate which had, among others, traditional Peruvian ceviche which was excellent, some traditionally prepared potato dish with corn and very nice sauce. Beside the degustation plate, we ordered one main dish which was sea food mix - it came also with ceviche, some fry fish, shrimps and clams in fry rice - the taste was just amazing, we loved it. We were 2 persons and we had just enough with 1 starter and one main dish + desert. Good portion size. For desert they had typical Tres leches cake which was beyond amazing. I wish i had space for another piece. Quality of food was very good, very well prepared and with traditional Peruvian ingredients. Relation price – quality – normal. We paid 1 starter, one main, 2 deserts, 2 beers and 2 shots some 45 euros, which was normal price for the center of Barcelona. Ambient – quiet and cozy, there is a huge projector so it is good for watching sport. Not many people and not noisy it s ideal for conversation in calm environment Service – very good,...
Read moreOne of the best meals we'd had in Barcelona. Every dish was a winner. We weren't very hungry to begin with but we just could not stop eating. The flavors were comforting but new and exciting. The ceviche was punchy and fresh. The toasted corn added a nice crunch to the dish. The stuffed, deep fried potato was very tasty. The mains were all delicious: we ordered deep fried fish with yucca, stewed lamb, a shredded chicken stew. Each dish was perfectly seasoned, prepared with care and attention to detail. The chicken stew was a wonder. The chicken breast in the dish been painstakingly shredded (probably by hand) so that each individual filament was suspended in the creamy yellow sauce. It was delicate and unctuous. We cleaned every plate. The food looked so enticing that we didn't even manage to take any pictures. The chicha morada was great; refreshing and cinnamon-y, and the pisco sour was a sweet but tart slap in the face (in a good way). The owners were warm, helpful, and gracious. My only regret is that we were too full to eat their dessert: a tres...
