I cannot even give one only star in any aspect. Although the atmosphere seemed ok and its nearby La Sagrada Familia, this place was a complete disappointment. First, all the employees seemed sad, weren’t welcoming, didn’t even try to be nice. Me and my friend asked for some of our favourite tapas and it was awful. The “huevos rotos” were full of oil, as after we took the food from the pan it was simply a “pool” of fat”, to the point where we got nauseous and could eat most of it, the “croquetas de jamon” were mouldy, mealy and bad-tasting, the tomato bread was ok as well as the patatas bravas (the best of it all), but we were so bad already we unfortunately couldn’t eat anything more. We personally don’t like to waste food nor having to report/bother in restaurants, but it really seemed like the food was made and served with no care. However, we saw some very good reviews in here and trusted them. Maybe some tourists are more into trying a different gastronomy and don’t have much expectations on flavours or simply make matter choices when ordering (?). Anyways, the worst part was the service for real. As we expressed our concerns, they had no practical, professional nor empathetic way to deal with them, ignored them, and finally when confronted with the one (75) who registered our orders in the first place, in the time of payment, I was forced to talk in spanish (not even my second language) for her to be able to fully understand our point and she simply said we were the first to ever (ever) complain and the food was just like that in there, just as I described and she couldn’t do anything about it, we could have exchange dishes if we wanted and that’s it, I believe she made an huge effort not to be 100% rude, despite all the irony, and when asked where I could write down my opinion, she said I could make a review in Google… As for her we might have seemed like two shallow tourists who are annoying because we asked for two spoons to serve the food, and go to restaurants just to complain, we respectfully are only trying to eat well where we go and pay, and above all, be treated well. As a type of business that can be very stressful, we understand mistakes are made and the mood isn’t always the best and staff and clients might have disagreements, but I’ve never been so shut down and ignored as a client… they simply didn’t care. And that’s the difference between a place we give a bad long review and the place we walked 2km after and went for the 3rd time. So if you’re looking for some tasteful meal in Barcelona, and understand what you’re about to eat,...

-The Catalan sausage or ‘Botifarra’ is an important staple in the Catalan-Spanish cuisine. A deliciously constructed-spicy-Smokey-juicy-salty sausage, served on a bed of soft white beans, alongside a slow cooked pepper and tomato. Delicioso.
-The seafood paella featured fresh-tender-flavourful seafood. The paella included; prawns, mussels, squid, baby octopus and clams. It had a light seafood stock flavour with paprika and pepper. The crust was interestingly on top of the dish instead of the bottom and sides, revealing a top-cooking method.
-The Pan Con Tomate is a Spanish bread with tomato, a popular Catalan Tapa, made simply with fresh tomato’s, garlic and olive oil. So delicious in combination with other tapas.
-The manchego cheese had a rich-aged taste. It comes from the La Mancha region of Spain, from the Manchega breed of sheep.
-The goat cheese salad had a bold freshness, offering a slight tangy taste. It had fresh Spanish tomato’s, pine nuts and topped with a sweet balsamic glaze.
-The chicken croquettes were incredibly creamy and cheesy, as were the Iberian ham croquettes, which had a beautiful salty flavour as well.
-The olives were a perfect addition to the table, all incredibly soft and melting in the mouth with a rich-oily-bitter-sweet flavour, hard to come by in Australia.
-The Spanish potato omelettes were cooked to a fluffy-creamy yet dense perfection. They were simply made with eggs, potato’s, onion and cheese.
Overall, this was an amazing introduction to the Catalan-Spanish cuisine, with a beautiful combination of tapas dishes, perfect alongside...
Read moreCanadian traveller here. I am very glad I settled for this tapas restaurant. It’s the best tapas I’ve had since we landed in Spain! Both indoor and outdoor dining were available, but of course we settled for outdoors. Customers who were also dining in were also travellers too. You can tell this specific tapas place attracts tourists, as it should because of their delicious food for the price. They also have English descriptions written at the bottom of each items which was helpful.
I can confirm that all the dishes we ordered were delicious: sautéed calamari, black rice (squid ink paella with squid, clams and mussels) with garlic mayo, patatas with garlic aioli sauce, homemade meatballs, assortment of sausages and their deep fried calamari. If we had more room we would of tried other items. We recommend all - the black rice was our favourite and the homemade meatballs. Considering this is a tapa restaurant the price was fair for what you get: the quality of the items were all seasoned well, tasty and not over cooked with the rice, shrimp, or the sautéed calamari. Lastly, we also recommend the sangria and my personal favourite which was one similar to the Baileys Irish cream liqueur - these certainly topped off our afternoon.
Thank you to all the servers for being attentive with us this afternoon and for the lovely treat !!! Highly recommended when you are...
