SOCO Poblenou — Restaurant in Barcelona

First of all, sorry for my bad English. I Just have finished my meal in this restaurant. Prices are ok, but all the rest is not So good. I weny there with my wife, she ordered some spinache pasta (don't remember the name) and I took some ravioli. Both were really good, very tasty and i honestly can recommend them if you are a pasta fan. Next we asked for Pizza. It was one of the baddest we ate in Barcelona. That is all when it comes to food. Oh, and the wine was nice. The biggest problem was with the people working there. Restaurant had a lot of free tables inside, So we chose the nicest for us, but the waiter decided to placed us near the smaller table. We sat there and it was really cold there (table was near the window and probably that is the reason). We asked to move to a diffrent table, and the waiter was not happy but agreed. We were sitting near bar, close to a something like a wall, but it was not much higher than the table. We get our meals, finished pasta and then the waitress didn't asked if she can take our dishes, but just took them without a word. The i ordered a pizza. My wife and i ordered one Pizza, for both of us, but we get only one plate! Thats all. When we finished, I asked for the check. They gave me the check above the wall i mentioned earlier. The didn't even put an effort to come to my table. The same was when They brought me the change. So in my opinion if you can go somewhere else, don't...

Ive just moved in the area and went for coffee yesterday morning before work. I was served by a lovely lady, came out to the terrace, asked what I wanted and asked if I would like the heater as it was cold out side. And she made me a lovely coffee.

So today I thought go back. It was 7.50 am and a different lady said I can't go in as they open at 8. So I sat and waited outside in the cold thinking at 8 she would come and ask me what I wanted. She did not offer to put the heater on. I waited till 8.10 and she never came. During that time 2 people came in and she served them. She knew I was outside waiting. So I decided to tell her how bad her service is and left to find another place which I can go to everyday and spend my money. She actually started arguing with me saying why didn't i come in. I told her you knew i was waiting outside 10 minutes before you opened and why yesterday the other lady came out side and served lots of people without coming in. Really horrible way to start my day. Will not go back again just because of that one person. It's a shame when you good staff and bad staff. One bad spoils the whole business.

Message to the owner: I live 2 minutes walk from Soco and like spending time out. I get 180 euros every month in Sodexo vouchers which your business has just lost because of that one person not including the money i would have spent from...

Don't be fooled by the good looks. Outside it looks stylish and the presentation looks hypster and cool and even the food looks great but the quality just isn't there.

First the have very different meals which makes you think that they don't have any specialty which isn't a very good sign usually.

We tried burgers and pasta for the kids. The pasta were a big Meh The burgers, especially mine was just not good at all. I had the graciaburger is was wayyyyy to salty and surprisingly very very dry and truffle oil was way too pronounced, and no sauce in it. I'm not usually picky with my burger, maybe I ventured a bit with this one but I had to forced myself to finish it.

Staff were nice, seems to speak English from what I heard and they served pretty quickly which is always nice.

The patatas that goes with the burger were nice from my opinion.
