My family has gluten-free and lactose-free needs, so dining out is a challenge, especially on vacation. During our stay in Barcelona we’ve managed to find numerous GF/LF friendly places, but they haven’t always felt very... Spanish. Most specialize in health food or a specific cuisine. So on our last night in town, we were getting desperate for some tapas we could actually eat. We decided to go look at the menu at this place, since it was near our hotel. Imagine our joy at finding lots of clearly-marked GF items on the menu- not to mention a friendly staff who was knowledgeable about lactose content, and about what our kids might like (such as warning us about spicy dishes). And the food was great! We enjoyed some mussels, chorizo and white beans, some charcuterie and more. All was delicious and prepared quickly (important for hungry kids). Prices were very reasonable, servers were kind, and also useful for traveling families, they were open for dinner at an earlier hour than most places here. They even had a few toys to entertain kids in the back, but our food came out so quickly we didn’t need them. But even with the family-friendly accommodations it sill had a cool vibe. All in all it made for a very happy last night in Barcelona for us. Wish we were staying longer so we...
Read moreReally nice Tapas place, first time visiting here and full of vegetarian and meat options.
You can sit inside or out, we opted to sit in due to it raining and seats under cover were taken.
The section we were dining in was really nice ( I especially loved the bowler hat light shades!)
For a table of 5 we ordered... Potatas Bravas X 2 Spanish Omlette Tempura Asparagus Chicken Wings Calimari Chorizo Croquettes x 3
We ordered the Tempera Aubergine as well but they has ran out .. in a way it was good as the above made us stuffed!! Everything was gorgeous, the Potatas Bravas especially, the Spinach and Pine Nut Croquettes were really nice too, not tried anything like that before.
The meat options I were told were really nice, the only down side that the calimari was better on their last visit than this one.
The Spanish Omlette portion was absolutely massive!! It was amazing to share it with the family.
My brother lives in Barcelona and has visited here a few times, I would definitely return myself.
Everywhere was clean including the toilets.
Our whole bill including drinks came to 60 Euros which I think was a really...
Read moreI stumbled upon this charming little bar on a Sunday morning while looking for a place to have breakfast, and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a small spot with a lot of personality, beautifully decorated, and run by a hardworking and enthusiastic team.
We decided to keep it simple but ended up having a fantastic breakfast. The tortilla de patatas was a highlight – possibly one of the largest tortillas I’ve ever seen! The waiter mentioned it was made with 3.5 kg of potatoes, which was impressive.
The Jamón Ibérico, however, was a bit underwhelming for me. The waiter really hyped it up, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. To be fair, I work in the business and eat jamón every day, which makes me a very tough critic. It was vacuum-sealed and hand-cut, but I personally prefer it sliced a bit thinner. That said, my friend loved it, and that’s what matters most.
The pan con tomate was delicious, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was the perfect finishing touch.
Overall, this is definitely a place I’d return to. I’m looking forward to trying more of...
