Soda Bus — Restaurant in Barcelona

Avoid Avoid Avoid! My daughter and I went to this restaurant after reading good reviews. We entered this restaurant, being the only customers in there, we should have known this to be an immediate red flag upon reflection. We ordered a beer, glass of wine, a chicken burger and the ribs. The chicken burger was grey (darker than pork), processed as it was a flat patty and did not taste like chicken (even McDonald's serve better chicken - not even sure it was even chicken to be honest). The ribs were pure mush, and did not taste like pork at all, no 'meaty' taste or texture at all, had one mouthful tasted horrible. I have eaten many slow cooked ribs, that have been of a good standard so know fully well how they should taste, so it was not just because they had been cooked low and slow as they later argued - I have eaten plenty cooked as such, these were horrendous. As above we each took a mouthful and sent the food straight back, explaining the issues and said we just pay for the drinks. They refused to remove the food from bill only offering a replacement - which obviously we did not accept as the food is clearly of an incredibly poor standard and the manner of which they responded to our complaint made us concerned with what they may possibly do to any food we may order a replacement. Using Google translate we further explained our concerns and were very polite stating we absolutely would pay for drinks, but refuse to pay for food that had not been consumed (aside from one bite per plate). We spent over 45 minutes trying to resolve the situation with them, with them becoming increasingly unprofessional and intimidating, I told them to phone the police as they would not listen to us. They made a phone call, unsure if they actually called the police, they then said the police would not attend and we must pay for everything and fill a form out to claim our money back (not paid anything at this point). I went to a nearby restaurant and spoke with some very helpful ladies who work in hospitality within Barcelona who said we should only fill in the form if paying for everything, but from what I had told them we should not be paying. Back at the restaurant they brought other workers from restaurants nearby over to argue their point with my Daughter, and threaten her that not paying would be a crime (food that had not been eaten may I add, if we had eaten the full meal I could understand). After my Daughter mentioned the CCTV cameras and asked to take photographs of the unconsumed/inedible food, whilst a large group of English people entered the restaurant (obviously she informed the group of the ongoing situation and advised them not to eat here, leading to the group leaving the restaurant) at this point they agreed for us to pay for drinks only - which we had said from the start. All completely unnecessary and avoidable with simple hospitality experience. This place is diabolical and the 'service' we received was absolutely disgusting, I regularly eat out at restaurants and have never in my life dealt with such a situation. The fact they thought intimidation/bullying of two women was acceptable sickens me. I will be posting this review wherever possible, and reporting to the necessary authorities. (For context I only post bad reviews when absolutely necessary, as I worked in hospitality for many years - following this situation we went to a lovely restaurant which I will be leaving a very positive review for). pongo 1 estrella porque menos no se puede. Todo empezó bien pero cuando quisimos pedir la segunda ronda, después de 30 minutos pidiendo cubatas y pidiendo que vinieran a tomarnos nota NO VINO NADIE. Cuando nos acercamos a pedir nuestros chupitos GRATIS empezó a hablarnos mal. La chica rubia bajita empezó a faltar el respeto, a chillar, hablar sin respeto y a juzgarnos diciendo que no habiamos trabajado en la vida (los 6 clientes trabajadores desde los 18 años). Hemos intentado hacerle entender nuestra posición y seguia chillando. Su posición era que estaba enferma y que el local estaba llena, cosa que, a mi entender, no es motivo suficiente para faltar el respeto a clientes ni para decir las barbaridades que ha dicho. De echo dos de nuestros amigos elevaron el tono y pedimos que se fueran porque no era la manera correcta de decir las cosas, nos quedamos las 3 chicas intentando hablar y ella, quien dijo ser la encargada siguió reiterándose en que tenia razón. Considero que no son maneras de tratar a un cliente, por mucho estrés que tengas el respeto va lo primero, todo y que entendemos que el local tenia gente y solo eran 2 personas. esperamos que eso cambie y poder volver.

Contestando a su respuesta, de manera individual, nos acercamos 4 veces a pedir comanda y se nos habló de malas maneras diciendonos que nos fueramos a esperar. Lo gracioso es que se acercó a todas las otras mesas y a la nuestra no. Mas tarde, cuando fuimos a pedir los chupitos nos dijo de malas maneras que parasemos, que eso no funcionaba asi y que primero teniamos que pagar, dejamos que cobrara a las chicas que iban delante nuestro y luego atendió a 3 mesas más que iban destrás nuestro. La primera en alzar la voz fue la camarera que, oyendo que hablabamos con su compañero de manera normal, nos dijo que nos calláramos y que nos estaba escuchando. Es una pena que, previendo que era un dia festivo se les dejara solos, y entendiendo que estaba enferma, no es apto que trabaje sirviendo comida y bebidas, y mucho menos chillando, hablando mal e insultando a sus clientes. Igualmente, en todo caso, la “encargada” del local debería saber cómo gestionar estas situaciones de estrés sin faltar el respeto a...

Por donde empiezo... Restaurante especializado en grupos. Super exigente: te piden con antelación los platos principales y una paga y señal. Hasta aquí todo bien. Llegamos ahí y nos habían embutido 23 personas en una mesa cual lata de sardinas. Sin espacio entre las sillas. Yo estaba contra la pared y tuve que saltar a la silla para poderme sentar y cada vez que tenia que ir al baño tenia que empujar la mesa para poder salir (molestando a las 2 personas enfrente) o toda mi fila tenia que salir para dejarme pasar. Claustrofóbico. Reserva a las 22h. Sin bebidas hasta que llegaran los platos segun su normativa. Los entrantes llegaban a las 23h. Es verdad que nos sirvieron bebida un rato antes pero a la velocidad que reemplazaban jarras y botellas, bien nos habrian podido servir antes. Las botellas de vino eran rellenadas, muy cutre. Para eso lo poneis en jarra y decis que es el vino de la casa como se ha hecho toda la vida. Las tapas a compartir nada a destacar, poca cantidad, y encima faltaban platos (era un plato cada 4/5 personas). Llegamos a los segundos. Debian ser las 12h. Primero vino una chica a verificar cuantas hamburguesas y mas adelante a quejarse porque no le cuadraban. Donde debia estar la lista que habiamos compartido con antelacion? Misterio. Llegaron los risottos y el bacalao (segun comentarios, era horrible). Media hora mas tarde las hamburguesas. Normalmente los segundos se sirven todos a la vez... Se olvidan una hamburguesa y la persona que la estaba esperando se queja y se marcha indignada. La traen a los 5 minutos. Quejas, discusiones... nos compensan con unas jarras de gintonic y cubalibre. Al menos el cubalibre era garrafón 100%. Ni me lo pude acabar. El surtido de postres era las tipicas planchas industriales. Muy pobre. Llega la hora de pagar y acordamos que nos descuenten una persona que no ha podido venir y la de la hamburguesa tardia. Nos querian cobrar 24 personas porque decian que habian puesto 24 sillas. Siguente nivel de jetismo. Nosotros si sabemos contar y pagamos por 22. Salimos de ahí a las 2am, hora perfecta para no entrar en ninguna discoteca. No hace falta decir que no...
