So we’re in Barcelona and looking for a good meal that won’t break the bank. I stumbled across Tapa De China looking at Google Maps and saw some decent reviews so figured why not check them out? I’m very glad we did because we had a great meal here, we actually ate here twice during our visit. Tapa De China is tucked away in a small alley, we almost didn’t find it the first time, near the Arc Di Triomf. The dining room is very basic with about 8-10 tables. Service was efficient if not overly friendly, we had to overcome the Chinese waiter trying to speak Spanish to us and us asking for English. We managed fine though by pointing to the menu and translating certain words or phrases on my phone. Our order: Potstickers - pan fried, tasted homemade versus frozen Spring rolls - smaller than what we’re used to but tasty with a Thai chili dipping sauce Fried rice with chicken - Very good, made with cabbage and green onions (no peas or carrots thankfully). Simply seasoned and quite tasty. Edamame - as you’d expect, but good Hand made noodles - This was served in a large bowl and had a very flavorful broth with minced pork and bean sprouts. Very good, we couldn’t finish the bowl it was so full of noodles and veggies (and only $4, you could order additional meats for $1 more). All in all we had a great meal at a very reasonable price. If you’re in Barcelona looking for good cheap eats, this...
Read moreMy husband had a conference in Spain a week ago. We went restaurant to eat every day for almost a week . We did not have any trouble to get a receipt from any restaurant in Spain until we went this Chinese restaurant. Very nasty people. We asked the owner to get a right receit after we had done our eating, however the owner rejected us and said " you need to pay the tax if we offer you a right receit". We told him it was ok and we liked to follow the rule the government made. But he continued to refuse to give us a right receipt ! He then lied to us " there is no right receipt in restaurants of Spain". He yelled at us " go away" very rudely. Foods were cheap but no quality at all ! Bad service and...
Read moreFrom my experience (I don't know if I got them on a bad day, considering other reviews of a nicer tone) , I had trouble believing it's primary function is a restaurant at all! The environment and service is so casually unmotivated, it's as if you have out stayed your welcome from the very moment you step a foot through the front door...As for the food...Lets just say that you would need a Disneyland explosive welcome to make up for what the food lacks! I would be seriously surprised if someone proved to me that the noodles I ordered didn't come straight from a supermarket packet! Thank goodness this is not the last Chinese restaurant in Barcelona... I would hate to have to give up eating one of my...
