I recently visited a restaurant with an interesting "all-inclusive" concept, where you pay a single fee upfront and can enjoy an endless variety of food, with drinks and desserts being the only extras. Overall, I was quite pleased with the experience, especially with the variety and the ability to sample different dishes. The food was generally very tasty, with a wide selection available, allowing you to eat your fill for a relatively small fee. I appreciated the fact that the portions were small, especially when it came to items like sushi. This allowed me to try different things without worrying about wasting food since there’s a rule that you have to pay extra if you don’t finish what you order. The smaller portions made it easier to decide what I liked before committing to more, which I found to be a very smart system. This also encourages you to be more mindful about what you order, which I think is a nice touch. There wasn't a lot of seafood or sushi on my plate, but I was fine with that. I liked that I could order several portions of the dishes I enjoyed the most—being able to try a little bit of everything without waste is a definite highlight of this restaurant's system. Unfortunately, while the food was delicious, the restaurant's cleanliness left something to be desired. The walls were stained, and the utensils didn't seem spotless, which raised some concerns. The bathroom, in particular, was quite dirty, and that affected my overall impression. Cleanliness is an important aspect of the dining experience, so this was a notable downside. Another small issue I encountered was with the operational hours. I visited on a Sunday, unaware that the restaurant had a shortened schedule on that day. I had to rush through my meal, which somewhat diminished the enjoyment. It would have been helpful if this information was made more obvious, either when booking or upon arrival. Overall, the restaurant provides a great opportunity to eat as much as you want while offering a diverse selection of dishes. The concept of small portions, trying before committing, and ordering your favorites in multiple rounds is excellent. However, cleanliness and operational transparency could use some improvement. If you're looking for a satisfying meal on a budget and don't mind a few extra charges for drinks or dessert, it's a solid option. Just be mindful of the conditions and perhaps avoid peak times if you're concerned about the...
Read moreI am sorry to say I didn't have a good experience at this restaurant. The gist of it was: We waited a long time for most of our food after our sushi order got lost for some reason. It was very busy and the service showed a lack of empathy in their eventual resolution of it. Simply stated, we didn't have a good time, and we left without finishing our meal.
In more detail:
Our initial order note got lost for the sushi's we ordered. Sushisade up the majority of our order. Upon suspecting something was wrong around 45 min into getting in to the restaurant the waiters simply stated we had to try again (and hope for the best?). This indicated a lack of empathy or perhaps a restaurant that is overcommitting itself in terms of the amount of guests it can handle.
Two out of three small dishes that did arrive prior, out of the same order, were of low quality. The cuttlefish was rubbery and no longer warm for example. Afaik these dishes didn't come from the sushi kitchen so therefore were not lost.
The combination of this, together with a loud & busy environment made us decide that this was not going to make our evening better, thus we decided to leave early.
Upon bringing the case to the floor manager he offered us a 20% discount if we would stay or otherwise we had to pay half of what they were owed. Only after indicating that in my opinion this was incorrect, we were offered an apology and stated that this was the only thing they could do.
We stated we would pay for what we actually did consume and after repeating this several times we indeed did so and left. It is worthwhile to mention that they did not offer us any discount for what we did consume and also tried to make us pay for the cuttlefish dish that we sent back.
Our expectation for what should have happened upon noticing the problem: A quick apology and a statement they will immediately investigate what has gone wrong, plus report back to us. Ask instead of just suggesting that we should try again inputting our order, plus that they will immediately take care of it with priority. Optional: Offer some kind of discount or other relievance for the situation. In other words a small gesture that displays empathy.
PS: For those reading this all the way to the end. We ended up having a great experience at a different sushi place just around the corner. Quite...
Read moreI had really high expectations of this restaurant after it was recommended to me, as well as checking out photos and reviews.
The price is €18.90 which is slightly more than average for a sushi buffet.
Super cool that there’s a screen to order with, never seen that before.
But then it became a bit strange, the staff are like robots and don’t even look you in the eye or speak to you. They are constantly trying to move stuff around on your table or take things away unnecessarily leaning over you etc. and it was just uncomfortable.
The sushi looks amazing, however it was some of the worst sushi I have ever had (I’m an avid visitor of sushi buffets in bcn). Some pieces tasted not fresh, some had a strange chemical taste and others were just bland. Of course there were some that were fine but in general it was one of the worst places I have experienced a sushi buffet.
Tempura was totally bland, as well as gyozas being frozen and not steamed thoroughly so the dough was dry on the edges. All of these dishes are usually served with dipping sauces (I have never seen without anywhere) but at this restaurant they want to charge you 20-30c extra for this which seems totally absurd.
Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this place as there are much better sushi...
