I had to pretend to be a cat to get thru the 13 rounds of fancy feast cat food - great for 3 year olds who want to be gourmet tigers or 93 year olds without teeth!! Don't worry about masticating here- it will squeeze against your hard palette and stick to your teeth in a horrible paste many enlightened citizens have called "icky" and "prison food reminiscent". I threw up after 4 (?) Minutes of leaving the place! Don't worry about temperature- everything is equally lukewarm in an eerie experiment to see if you like food neither hot nor cold . Why was nothing cooked. There were 15 tables why did we all eat the same dishes at the same time regardless of when we got to our seating or finished a plate - it should be individual. How do you mess up rice. It felt like little chunks. The absolutely kind and gentle staff- no joke, they were genuine angels with the look of the long-suffering - stopped asking if we liked it after 4 rounds. They flinched instead. The couple next to me went from saying "... I don't know...?" To shaking their heads to eventually hellish silence, stunned into their own calm private acceptance of death. The good news is that the wine can be ordered by the bottle , thank god, which vastly improved my circumstance. I chugged an entire 30 dollar bottle by round 5 to rid my mouth of the taste, made the joke they would bring us mush vomit next, and here's the thing: I got what I predicted. This felt like a social experiment for tourists . How does it have these stars. Take your beautiful body elsewhere, I love you. I beg u. I am in pain and my gut feels like a knife so I am writing this from food poisoning central. Go on without me(ow). Do you know how bad it has to be that I was giggling any time they brought me a new bad flavor of cat food.
Do not believe the pictures - the chef must have changed. Godspeed if you enter. Godspeed if you leave.
Just to be clear, this was the absolute worst meal I've...
Read moreSix of us all got the 10 course prefixed option which was 47euro each and then add two bottles of wine so each couple got a bill for 120euros. Now if you compare this to similar michellin and/or higher end rated 10-13 course prefixed options we have done in other cities in Spain that is a big time bargain.
All of us felt about 3 of the dishes were excellent in presentation and taste. Another 3 were much better when we added some salt flakes to the dish. The overall experience did not hit a home run for any of us when compared to higher rated, higher quality restaurants in Barcelona. The 3 nights before this experience we had total bills that were half the amount at restaurants that nailed 6 out of the 8 shared tapas choices. The portions were larger at these other places and when we got a dish that was true heaven in our mouths we could easily order a second round of that dish. One last note is when you have two "sittings" and your are in the 8pm sitting you are watching an assembly line of 3 people who must quickly bring you one dish and then take it away to bring you the next. Same thing applies to all the tables because you have to be paid up and ready to leave for the next group to all sit down at 10pm.
I have to give an honest review and felt I did above but I am also being 100% genuine to close this out by saying that for anyone who has not expeirenced a 10-13 course prefixed high-end meal option this place is a must when compared to the 250-300euro per person michellin options and 6 of the 10 small dishes are above average to excellent. Also the 3 persons on staff that night were so friendly and nice and you can tell management and the staff act like a...
Read moreIf I could give more than five stars, I would!Teòric offers an exquisite and intimate local dining experience that's truly memorable. They have two set menu options—10 or 13 dishes. We opted for the “smaller” 10-dish menu and still left feeling full and more than satisfied.
The service was outstanding: attentive, knowledgeable, and warm. The team cultivated a relaxed, minimal, and welcoming atmosphere that made the evening feel extra special.
Now for the highlight—the food and drinks. Teòric serves a delightful non-alcoholic malt beer, and my husband was particularly impressed by their selection of local natural wines. We also received complimentary filtered water. The food itself was impeccable: a refined, modern twist on traditional Catalan cuisine, with a strong focus on sourcing seasonal ingredients. Each dish delivered a surprising and beautifully balanced flavor profile. Together, the ten courses showcased a thoughtful and satisfying range of tastes and textures, accompanied by some delicious sourdough bread (we received two generous serves).
As a small note, I would have loved a printed version of the menu—it was so beautifully created!
Highly, highly recommend. Excellent value for money as well. This was easily one of our favourite dining...
