I am currently sitting in this small coffee, Initially I have sit outside and I opened my laptop, with the 40 min I have left to check for my e-mail, after paying and waiting for my coffee the waiter ( blond guy ) approaches and says that the tables outside are for "people that wants to enjoy the day" so I ask him if this was a joke. Surrounded with people staring at their mobile phones. I was asked to get inside and come up to the working area, which is where I am right now, there is no air con, this feels today 20 of March of 2024 like a sauna where I do not know if I am breathing or inhaling the sweat of other people. An absolutely ridiculous place that I wont advise anyone to come.

Update: Following my initial review, the store manager confronted me with considerable aggression, inquiring sharply, "Who is Federico?" He then proceeded to make a highly charged statement, implying that individuals like myself are the reason that the world is going to "bad word goes here". This confrontation was so intense that I found myself needing to remove my AirPods to fully grasp his sentences, clearly stemming from my review. Admittedly, my error was in leaving the review while still present at the location, which escalated the situation. This encounter marks the most unpleasant experience I've ever had. Interestingly, we were not alone; two acquaintances who are regular customers witnessed the situation. This was unknown to the manager, they have decided to post an anonymous review reflecting their perspective on the aggression we faced due to my initial feedback. Ultimately, we felt compelled to leave the establishment. It's worth noting that I managed to record a significant portion of this exchange, capturing the escalation but, regrettably, not the moment the manager's demeanor became threateningly close and aggressive. I had hoped for a different outcome; had the manager approached me with less hostility and explained the reasons behind their concerns, I might have been inclined to reconsider my review. However, the level of aggression displayed left me with no choice but to retain my original critique and share...

Great coffee spot, top 3 from my visit to Barcelona.

Nice pastries too. Great selection of of coffee beans on retail and for filter or espresso to try in store.

Only thing that I’d add is that they don’t seem willing to adjust anything to your preference if it goes against “their way”

For example. As they had run out of cold brew. I asked if they could just do me a filter over ice, this is something that is fairly common in the uk to do as most coffee shops stop serving cold brew after summer as it’s not popular.

The flat out refused as it was against their way of serving coffee.

Now I totally understand that it would make the filter more watery as it would melt the ice and the ratio would be off. I explained that I knew this and that it was fine as I didn’t mind it I just wanted a cold black coffee and this is the way I’m used to drinking it when there’s no cold brew, I told them they could charge me for a cold brew as I understand the price is different.

They were unwilling to accept this and said they could offer me a iced Americano as some sort of substitute. But I hate the taste of them and ended up just not getting coffee.

Again this is a great spot for coffee and I would 100% recommend coming here. But I think their unwillingness to adjust their way is what gives coffee spots a bad reputation in general. Myself and my partner have worked in specialty coffee for many years and run our own shop in London. We deal with tough customers and understand it’s difficult to deal with some times.

But it’s also hospitality and your job as a server is to look after the people that come into your shop.

To add. If you are unwilling to change or adjust “your way” Then you should make sure you have your menu items in stock to avoid such things.

Hope to come back here again next...

My favourite place to have specialty coffee in Barcelona, the team is passionate, and during weekdays you can even stay for some time on your laptop which is great.

Most of their team are very active in the barista space and they accumulate a lot of prizes as they roast their coffee as well.

Have been coming here for two years and the service has always been excellent and as a frequent customer the loyalty prepaid card is definitely a plus, they call almost every frequent customer by their names and they even know in advance what are your usuals! ❤️ they are also dog friendly 🐶

I like everything on their menu, I usually order flat white, batch brew or when feeling adventurous even the espresso tonic, their baked products are also good, my favourite one is their pain au chocolat. We also buy coffee beans for home and they can grind it for you, give you recommendations, their coffee is always freshly roasted and have seasonal offerings.

They are a specialty coffee place not a coworking space, it’s interesting to see some people being rude to personnel when they’re being kindly asked to work with laptops on the designated area the have available upstairs which is not common in a lot of coffe places and highly appreciated when you like to be able to have a different environment, I love how they prioritise customers to have space in their terreace to enjoy great weather instead of having people on their laptops...

Three Marks Coffee is a spot where passion for coffee is clear from the first sip, and it’s no surprise considering the founders of Nomad are behind it. The space is airy and minimal, designed to let the coffee shine while still feeling warm and welcoming. Service is laid-back but attentive, with the team happy to walk you through their current offerings. I ordered a flat white, and it was outstanding—layers of cherry, orange, and dark chocolate came through with every sip, balanced perfectly by the creamy milk. It had that depth and clarity you only get when beans are roasted and brewed with real intention. Alongside it, I tried the cardamom bomb, which was freshly made that morning. The pastry was soft, fragrant, and not overly sweet, with the spice carrying just enough warmth to complement the coffee. Between the clean space, thoughtful drinks, and the kind of detail you expect from Nomad’s legacy, Three Marks stands out as one of the must-visit specialty coffee spots in Barcelona.
