I'm reading all this 5/5 reviews and I'm asking my self was I at the same restaurant. Almost nothing was as described. I would say it's closer to 1/5. (SEE THE PHOTOS) We were sitting outside, ambient is poor, metal desks and chairs, not even coaster for the plates and on top of that, smell of piss in the air. Regarding food, we had few fried dishes for the starters and it was ok but noting more than ok. For the main dish we had traditional dish CANELÓ DE PAM (traditional cannelloni with meat and cheese) and RUBIA GALLEGA (aged beef stake). Cannelloni were nothing special, I didn't like it, minced meat inside cannelloni had some strange taste and the dressing was pretty much tasteless. Beef was complete disaster, so tough that I manage to chew a few bites only. I usually don't comment to the restaurant staff when the food is bad, just pay, leave and never come back. But this time I had to tell them that this was probably the worst stake in my life. The waitresses said, "No we have excellent stakes, every one is coming here for the stakea". When I said ok, maybe, but this particular piece of meat was bad, look at our plates and all the bites we couldn't chew... She again insisted that they have excellent stakes and leave to get our check. This communication was actually the reason to leave review. It's not my the first and certainly not the last bad meal at the restaurants but no one loves hard headed and...
Read moreGood food, moderately priced. You can say it's a good place beause the crowd is there, when it obviously empty in places nearby. But then it means you are lucky if you just walk in and get a table. There are tables outside, we were inside, and I thought I liked the subtle blue-brown pattern, repeated on walls , on bar table. Try to avoid sitting in the very corner, it is literally windy there, the draught is very strong. Fine on the other side of that table. We ordered 6 tapas plus bread for 3 of us to share, but really, go for less. See my photos attached. Sangria is good, but order a 1l jar, because the glasses are 125ml. Bread with tomatoes was OK, but a bit dry for us, there is another place nearby where it was just so much better (see my future review to find out where). Potatoes bravo were very good, also I never tried it with this particular sauce. It was good with mayo, but next time I'd ask to double mayo. Go for the mussels, well done, hot, would be better in a sauce. A child might have fun making themselves busy arranging the shells in a pattern (see a photo, we decided to have fun too) Rabbit ribs, green peppers, intestines how they like them in Madrid :) were all good. The intestines are realy worth a try, in fact, if you manage to convince yourself. Go even further, discuss the topic, functions of frills, importance for us, etc. etc. ;) All in one, simple and quality food in a...
Read moreUp-scale tapas dishes with excellent presentation. Their patatas bravas / patates Braves are worth the visit alone. Fried to perfection they are spicy, not hot. A smokiness of paprika or chipotle restaurant home made bravas sauce. Thankfully very light on the Ali Oli. I mixed it with my habanero valentina hot sauce that took it to the desired heat.
Quality napkins (yeah the nice ones, not toilet paper quality ) are used.
Sadly other than the bravas there's zero #vegans or #vegetarian friendly options. Croquetes, fried artichokes, aubergine etc are viable options and I'd had reserved a table.
Social distancing is very vague. Even outside someone is back leaning...
