Usagui CafĂ© â Your New Favorite Japanese Hideaway in Barcelona đđ
If you are craving a Japanese spot in Barcelona that delivers both comfort and flavor, look no furtherâUsagui CafĂ© has you covered. I stopped by for a quick meal and ended up falling in love with their food, the vibe, and (yes) even their drink menu.
Let us talk about the curry udon first. Imagine a rich, savory curry broth hugging perfectly chewy udon noodles, topped with a light, crispy vegetable fritter that adds just the right amount of crunch. It is basically comfort food on steroids one slurp, and I was done for.
Next up, the karaage. Fried chicken might sound simple, but trust me Usaguiâs version is next-level. It is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and comes with a fresh salad that makes you feel slightly better about indulging. If you are the type of person who cannot resist good fried chicken, you will want to put this on your bucket list.
And the lemon soda? A total palate cleanser. Tangy, refreshing, and served with a scoop of ice cream if you are feeling extra fancy. It is the kind of drink that makes you wonder why you ever settled for plain lemonade.
The café itself has a cozy, modern vibe minimalist design, warm lighting, and a calm atmosphere that makes you want to linger over your meal (and possibly order seconds). The staff? Friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do.
So if you are in the mood for soul-warming curry udon, crispy karaage, and a zesty lemon soda to wash it all down, head to Usagui Café. Pro tip: bring a friend, because you will want to try everything on the menu and maybe share the love (or not, I will not judge).
Bon appétit, and let me know how...
Read moreSmall, cute cafe. Atmosphere is kind of nice. Took forever to order (took 10 minutes for the 2 people in front of me to order, and when i started ordering, the person taking my order left, then another came and also left about 15 seconds after asking me what I wanted, and a 3rd person was nice enough to hear me). It looked from the outside that the food and drinks were going to be really good, but the matcha frappe was completely saturated with sugar (as in, it was physically impossible to dissolve the remaining Kgs of sugar which completely defeats the purpose of going for a matcha based drink). On the other hand, the matcha cheese cake was tasteless and had an unpleasant 'gummy' texture. On top of that, it's aggressively overpriced, i felt like I was paying for all the customer's bills on top of my 2 drinks and slice of...
Read moreWe had a reservation for 7 girls. We assumed that we would be able to order anything, but this seemed to be quit difficult. When we asked why we could not order pastries and matcha, the waitress could not tell us.
She was not really cooperating with us and not very friendly. We decided to do what was possible, which was the set menu. But we wanted to share this, because it was quite a lot. So we ordered 3 set menus to share. The waitress mentioned that we could only have three spoons and chopsticks, because itâs thee menus. This made us not even want to eat anymore, because why would you not give out more cutlery??? It was a strange and unwelcoming experience. Would not be coming back to this place, which is a shame, because the food is not bad at...
