La mar de tapas — Restaurant in Benidorm

Tapas was lovely but if you are not Spanish don't expect a warm welcome. Went twice, 1st time the lady was very rude, when I said I was looking forward to trying due to the a review on YouTube she just sneered at me and muttered something obv not very nice under her breath. The clientele are an entitled rude Spanish crowd, when I went to sit down on a spare table of 6 empty seats you would have thought I had burned the Spanish flag, one customer went into uproar storming out of the bar waving his hands. He communicated that its was his table for his 6 friends but very aggressive. There were never any friends and he just wanted the table for himself with no foreigners near him I soon found out after moving (politely for his friends).He sat on his own and finished his food. No friends appeared. Nice food but aggressive and racist. Will never recommend a racist bar to my travel clients. A real disappointment but there are many excellent Tapas...

It took us a while to work out the tapas bar process and menu as everything is in Spanish but we went back many times after we had it sussed! One tapas dish is included in the price of a drink and more dishes are only €1.50 each. The food was tasty and fresh and the wine good. This cafe sits in a row of other tapas bars and it was interesting to see that this one was always full and several others always empty, tells a story. Basic decor/cafe environment for a very good value quick meal. We could have a good meal for €15 for three, amazing! ...

Nice tapas and seafood mix. No fish in the mix though. Free small tapa included with each drink which is great and as it should be. Not a lot of tourists though, which is nice. The menus are all in Spanish and the staff do not...
