Pizza in Piazza Sapori d’ Italia — Restaurant in Benidorm

We came here as myself and my wife both fancied a pizza on our first day in Benidorm. We had walked round looking for something more authentic and oh my. This place was unreal. It has charm and genuine unique to the pizza oven techniques. The menu is full of choice and even some amazing looking pasta dishes too. We were blown away by the size and quality of the food here. It was so good that we came back 2 days later. Unfortunately on our 2nd visit the chef was having abit of meltdown. I felt we had caused unnecessary aggressive behavior from him. Half way through service he packed up and left only to leave the female chef to maximise her potential behind the counter to make amends and more quality. Thankyou for the amazing food. We have recommended it to our freinds and family of whom some soon are coming over to Spain. Good luck in the future and keep up the amazing service and food. We stopped by this pizzeria on our way home and were very pleased. We got the MORTADELLA AL TARTUFO NERO E FONDUTA DI GRANA PADANO pizza, and it exceeded all expectations. The combination of cheese, mortadella, and truffle was excellent, and the dough was light and crispy — just like in Italy. It was delicious!

The next time, we chose another pizza, though I can’t remember the name, but it was also good. However, the pizza with mortadella and truffle was definitely my favorite.

As for desserts, the rum baba was decent, quite soaked and pleasant in taste. The cannoli didn’t leave a strong impression, maybe just not my type of dessert.

My girlfriend has a severe egg allergy. We made sure to ask the server several times and explain the severity of the allergy, we were assured that there wouldn't be any cross contamination or traces of eggs on the pizza. We even went in to look at the ingredients on the parmesan cheese which indeed did not have eggs. However turns out there was cross contamination and traces of eggs in the pizzas. About 30min after eating my girlfriend ended up having a severe allergic reaction and an ambulance had to be called to take her to the hospital where she had to spend one night under observation at the hospital.
