Rays II Chippy — Restaurant in Benidorm

First time we've managed to come here as my partner had a day off & they are usually closed on weekends. We both had the two course menu which is basically a fish tea with dessert, just under 13€ each. I had haddock & my partner had cod. The fish suppers were the stars as they should be, absolutely delicious! Now for things that could be improved. We ordered curry sauce, very watery, it should coat the chips. We didn't like the dessert, frozen cheesecake that was microwaved but the strawberries were still frozen, next time we'd skip it. It was also a shame that none of the staff could speak Spanish when they had another Spanish customer come in who couldn't speak much English, luckily we were there to help. The toilets have ample space but they've put an appliance at the entrance to the ladies, something to be aware of if you're plus sized liked me. Ending on a positive, I saw that they do takeaway & they are very close to Levante beach, I think next time we'll do that. Nothing like a fish...

Food is always great - everytime we go but lately one waitress tells us how busy she is and can't serve us right away or we have to wait. ( She does this with others too ) As a one off it's ok but when it's almost everytime you visit it's not good. Customers don't want to hear if your stressed because you have too many customers - Surely that's a good thing. Last time 8 of us went and we were told we could only get 4 meals then the other four later but in fact we did all get them together.

Always welcomed with a negative expression - it's like telling customers what you can't do before they have even sat down. The fish and chips are good though.

It's a shame as we had always enjoyed it but to we don't want to be welcomed by someone who doesn't want to be there so will go elsewhere next time. I don't think it's entirely intentional but it is rude and as regulars, we've seen this many times so other customers and staff...

Asked for a small fish and chips to take away presuming that 4.95 would be the price as that is what they advertise everywhere(fish and chips from 4.95) was then charged 6.40 and asked "is that o.k?" As I didn't want to argue replied o.k....where she got that price from I don't know as there is no price like that on the menu for fish and chips anywhere...the food itself was good but overpriced at 6.40 for what was a very small portion the main thing is as a first time customer I feel like I've been overcharged ...so if you can explain this price issue I will update my review..thanks UPDATE: thanks for the reply. I am sure I asked for small fish and chips and not cod and chips in which case the options should have been given to me which they weren't and these options should be clear on your menus + adverts but anyway I have updated to 4...
