Restaurante Bocatapas — Restaurant in Cádiz

EDIT- I wrote the review at the request of the waiter after we finished the food. In the interest of transparency I am making this addition. Everything below still stands however it took about 50 mins to get the cuenta/bill. We asked 3 times, the waiter came and went numerous times serving other people. When he finally came with the bill he was about to walk back across the road into the restaurant with said bill in hand. My patience snapped and I just shouted out to bring the bill in Spanish, he duly turned around and obliged. We paid without leaving a tip and have downgraded the service and overall rating

Great friendly service. I do take issue that the name is Boca Tapas, because there are very few if any tapas on the menu. Its mainly full raciones which of course are fine to share but bigger/more expensive. Prices are a little high but the food was very good and the location is fantastic.

Cadiz central is a wonderful city with an amazing atmosphere but sometimes it’s nice to escape the crowds. Bocatapas is the perfect place to sit and relax with the cool breeze from the ocean and a peaceful environment set in one of the beautiful parks that surround the city. Tables are positioned around a cute little fountain in the shade from the parks trees and large umbrellas. The food is exceptionally good quality for the price with a good selection on the menu. I can hear for lunch, on a random day, and thought I really needed to try some lovely local tapas. This was the perfect place!

The waitress and waiter were so helpful, and we communicated well with my broken Spanish. The language barrier did not matter as they were so friendly.

The only problem was that my eyes were bigger than my belly! I should have had just one plate for lunch… however… because I am a pig, I ate every single bit!

The setting was perfect in the park overlooking the sea and I thoroughly enjoyed...
