To be clear, THIS IS A SPORTS BAR. It is not a fine-dining establishment or a tapas bar. So I am rating it for what it is, not judging it for what it is not.
As a sports bar, this place is great. K&I had dinner here after my first Samson Writers Group meeting. Ribs were excellent, so was her Argentine parillada plate... the burgers looked amazing, at other tables. And the sangria was EXCELLENT, served in a generously-sized glass goblet. It is very close to the Cádiz train station …so K & I went again when we returned to Cádiz! This time we got burgers. The Pampas was amazingly good, and the Double Burger was good too. Not “amazing” but no disappointment at all.
And in the Cádiz burger scene, that alone is amazing. If you love burgers, do not order them anywhere in Cádiz. Except here. And maybe one or two other places where Americans or Australians have praised their burgers specifically. It’s horrifying what passes for a “burguer” in Spain, but the Cabin Beer folks do a good job of it.
Also, they show LaLiga football (the most prestigious Spanish soccer league) matches on big screens, one inside and one outside, and they don’t stint on the volume. This draws fans... it’s a fun time!
A note if you’re there during a game: servers will start coming around to charge all guests before the game ends even if you're still waiting on your food. Don't worry, it is just to save time during the sudden...
Read moreAs many other places also this one we have found by accident. We were just passing by and have noticed the establishment with wooden tables and because it was not crowded we decided to have a seat and defeat the thirst a little bit. They have a wide selection of beers from around the world as well as local craft beers. Also for a quick snack you will find something for yourselves - the usual quick bites to go along with your chosen beer. We chose nachos and I have to admit the portion was bigger than anticipated. Overall verdict - quite relaxed atmosphere, good for a casual bite or glass of beer, close to the local train station but not too close to the main touristic routes (but surprisingly not that far either). On the day we have visited it was not very crowded as I've mentioned before but whether or not is a bonus is for...
Read moreIn all my life I have never been treated so badly by barstaff. The table we were at has been reserved for 9.30. At 9.15 the barataff rudely told us to leave the table as the other party had arrived early. No apology or kindness at all. Worse was the young dark-haired barman who proceeded to insult me and seemed to be looking for a physical fight (trying to take my glass from my hand, for example). Even the other staff were telling him to calm down.
I have been to this bar many times over the years and the service is always one of the worst I've found in 12 years living in Spain. Although I love good beer, I shall never drink here again and advise everyone to keep away, unless they enjoy...
