The impression is more it's a museum than a church with a living congregation. The fee of about 7 € gives you access to 1/the exhibition in the Cathedral and the Cathedral, 2/The tower with a great view of the area/Cadiz, 3/The nearby museum of the Catholic Cathedral. In the Cathedral you can read about the Cathedrals story and exhibited objects in Spanish and English, and also an audio track player stick is available + in more languages. It's not a place for prayer as it stands now. The walk up at the spiral pathway in the tower of the Cathedral is interesting and with no steps except just before the top. Here you meet the bells and watch out for your ears each quarter 🔔😉 If you see it all and read and listen to some or more you can easily spend 2 hours in the 3 places. The story is interesting in the overall line, but if you live in lets say Scandinavia you can skip some of the details and people mentioned.

There are many popular tourism sites in Cadiz however the 18th century Cathedral of Cadiz with it's bell tower and the tomb of Manuel de Falla, is one not to be missed. It sits on the site of an older cathedral, completed in 1260, which burned down in 1596, and was built with money from the trade between Spain and America over 116 years in the period from 1722 to 1838. As well as the beautiful old organs in the choristers area, the Cathedral houses a number of artworks, sculptures and other artifacts from the conquest of the New World. However, most interesting, and a must see, is the Torre de Poniente, the bell tower, which is open to the public and gives you the best views of Cadiz.

First time to visit Cadiz, Spain. The cathedral is magnificent and tourist magnet. Restaurant and cafe's are all over. You will love the good energy and the perspective of being religious you will get awe with the ancient catholic saints and even the neighbor church beside the cathedral. You will enjoy your sangria while eating paella in the scorching sunny weather. Souvenir shops and boutiques are all over. Just be careful with your bag and wallet as I experienced drop my id with my debit card and good thing a woman gave it back to me. As you will get busy as you go along the narrow streets with thousands of tourist. Just enjoy travel all the time and be caucious.

The Nueva Cathedral stands in the Plaza de la Catedral in Cádiz. The cathedral was designed by Vicente de Acero in 1722. The work was completed in 1838. The impressive facade overlooking the Plaza de Pio XII is distinguished by its baroque towers. The magnificent gilded dome glistens in the sunlight and is the most distinctive feature of the Cádiz relief. Visitors are delighted by the interior of the cathedral, an inspiring space of majestic proportions, 60 meters wide, 60 meters wide, with large 18th-century columns. The magnificent dome reaches a height of 52 meters. The crypt contains the tombs of several bishops and the composer Manuel de Falla, born in Cádiz

We visited the Catedral de Cadiz on a Sunday afternoon while everyone else was at the beach. We just about had the cathedral to ourselves. This allowed to take our time and absorb the majesty of this beautiful place in solemn calmness with no crowds, unlike other cathedrals we visited. We visited the underground crypt which I didn't find eerie which some people would think, on the contray there was a sense of peace I felt. We also walked up to the top of the cathedral's bell tower. It was a workout, but we were rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view of Cadiz.

Beautiful cathedral in the heart of old town. The entrance fee is worth the visit, you get to see the beautiful cathedral inside, go to the top of the tower (best part), and the entrance to a museum nearby (we didn’t have time to go). The view from the top of the tower is unbeatable and absolutely stunning. It’s not too hard to get to the top, there are no steps until you get to the end, it is just a ramp that goes up. Not sure on their wheelchair or stroller policy but you can make it almost to the top without steps.
