A True Taste of Home at Vin Vin’s Cocina Filipina
If you’re ever in Cádiz and craving authentic Filipino cuisine, Vin Vin’s Cocina Filipina is an absolute must-visit. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth by the owners, whose hospitality instantly made us feel like family.
We indulged in a feast of classic Filipino favorites: the Vin Vin's Signature Salad was fresh and vibrant, perfectly whetting our appetites. The Pancit Bihon was cooked to perfection — light, flavorful, and filled with generous toppings. The Crispy Pata was delightfully crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, while the Sisig and Dinakdakan were both rich, savory, and balanced with just the right amount of zest.
We also enjoyed Tokwa’t Baboy, Sarsiado (a deep-fried fish in a comforting tomato and egg sauce), and Sinigang na Isda, whose sour tamarind broth warmed the soul. The Adobong Pusit brought a satisfying depth of flavor, and the Pinakbet was cooked just like how our grandmothers used to make it — hearty, wholesome, and undeniably Filipino. And the Dinuguan? Bold, rich, and perfectly spiced.
As a special treat, we were offered a free taste of their famous Papaitan, and it did not disappoint. It was incredibly tasty with a clean, supple meat texture that clearly showed the care taken in its preparation.
What sets this place apart, beyond the incredible food, is the feeling it gives — like dining in your own home. It’s no surprise that crew members from ships docking in Cádiz often seek out this spot for a comforting meal. The dining setup is simple and relaxed, and the free fast Wi-Fi makes waiting for your freshly cooked food even more enjoyable.
Vin Vin’s Cocina Filipina is open Monday to Saturday, 11:00–14:00 and 18:00–21:00. They close on Sundays to spend quality time with family — a testament to the values that shine through in every dish they serve.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting a true Filipino experience in Spain. Salamat po, Vin Vin’s — we’ll...

Walk in and you're instantly greeted by the owners - a young, incredibly hard working but super friendly couple who've made this place theirs. Everyone who walked in this place looked and sounded happy to be there and part of the family. We had lumpia (perfectly crispy, savoury), the specials (pork rib adobo, meat falling off the bone), fried rice (perfectly seasoned and loaded with prawns and chicken), and the kawali (don't get me started!). Booking is advised as it gets full in advance. Those lucky enough to get a table seemed genuinely happy to be there, chatting to the chef as they were poured ice cold beer into chilled glasses. I'm part Filipino and have never been, but I think this place goes some way to capturing what it must be like - good food, friendly, happy, humour. We left positive (and full) and hoping to taste the flavours again (no problem as the portions were huge so we had a bag of takeaway!). If you're in Cadiz, for any amount of time, then don't hesitate to go here. You'll be...
Read moreNot a recommendable place if you’re in a hurry At first I asked for reservation but they told me it was first come first serve only, so we waited 40 minutes to get a table. I assumed all people who worked there were family, none of them offered us to seat somewhere while waiting. When we finally got our table, the long wait wasn’t over yet because they took quite a while to take orders and prepare the food. We had lumpia and kawali, the food was quite nice and came with decent portion, although it didn’t really impress me. The kawali was fried so it had a lot of fat, have that in mind when you order it. Overall, it wasn’t a bad place but wasn’t worth the wait either. Service needs to improve because we didn’t feel attended...
