The Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol, also known as the Baroque Santiago Church or the Church of Santiago, Cadiz, faces south-east into Plaza de la Catedralas (Cathedral Square) and located directly next to Cadiz Cathedral which faces north-east into the plaza. Based on designs by Jesuit brother Alonso Romero, the church was built in 1635. It doesn't look much at all from the outside however inside is a different story. The interior is dramatic with spectacular wood carved altarpieces and sculptures from 17th and 18th century and houses a number of baroque works of some famous local artists like Alejandro de Saavedra.
