Way to expensive for what they offer. Less than average bravas (not crispy, like they had been fried some time before. The hot tomato sauce was good, as was the aroma given by the burnt thyme, but not enough to compensate the mediocre potatoes). We ordered the suggested "croquetes" and they brought another ones (the owner claims we didn't ask for a change. We shouldn't have had to ask for a change. The problem? The waiter didn't take our order down, so mistakes are to be expected), fried shrimps with truffled mayo and egg yolk (the yolk was at the bottom of the dish, and we only found it when we were almost done with the shrimps. Also, where is the truffle??), squids with their own ink (quite good) and Idiazabal Cheesecake (I'm still looking for the Idiazabal. The owner claims to be Basque style. No way! They should go to Jon Cake in Barcelona, for example. Even better, check them at the Basque country. Also, the first flavour you notice is lemon. Too bad, lemon should be just a hint in a cheesecake). The wine was good, though (Las Bairetas 2021, La Sentencia), but we had to ask for an ice bucket, which should be a default for a white wine. Music way to loud, I was barely able to speak to my partner (yes, they lowered it down when asked, but it was still pretty loud. After all, is is a gastrobar or a music pub?). Not sure...
Read moreBèstia is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had in Girona. From the moment you step inside, the vibe is effortlessly cool — a perfect balance of modern design and laid-back comfort. But the real star is the food.
Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, creativity, and just the right touch of boldness. You can tell the team here puts real thought into their ingredients and presentation. The menu feels both adventurous and accessible, with a strong emphasis on local, seasonal produce prepared in ways that surprise and delight.
We shared a few small plates and were especially impressed by the attention to detail — textures, sauces, seasoning — everything was spot on. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they’re doing, which added to the overall experience.
If you’re in Girona and looking for something fresh, exciting, and deliciously different, Bèstia should be at the top of your list. Highly...
Read moreWe accidentally sat at the wrong restaurant as the tables are in the same square as another restaurant opposite the square but the server was very kind and ushered us to bestia’s table. The server in bestia was so nice, spoke great English and gave good advice for the order of our food. Told us we may be ordering too much and gave us an option for the crystal bread and tomato which was an excellent suggestion. He was very efficient and friendly. He was almost running the place himself with a smile and helpful to everyone. As much as we enjoyed the service, we also enjoyed the food very much. Super creative dishes with great pairing of ingredients. My taste buds were dancing at the end of the night....
