La Malabarista Vermuteria — Restaurant in Girona

Arrived around 12pm and asked to seat outside, the waiter says yes but we can only order a set menu of 20€ with 2 vermouth and 3 tapas. We ask him if we need to order 2 of those menus or we can order a menu and two separate drinks (since we are 4). He comes back and gets the order, we get 2 vermouths with the menu (he gave us different vermouth options that we assumed were included in the 20€ pack) and 2 beers. Once we want to leave and pay they charged us 29€ for all and since 2 beers cannot be more than 5-6€ we ask why is it 29. The waitress tells us that we had vermouth that was out of the menu and that it’s 4,5€/glass and they included the 2 beers (the cheapest) on the menu. The previous waiter never said any thing about not being included in the 20€ menu so it’s basically a scam. Once we claimed they basically replied that this is the price. We paid without complaining but here’s your present for being such a scam trying to steal money from your customers. Stay away from this place, they will try to scam you. Drinks are just basic quality, foood is industrial canned food and service, of course, ridiculous.

We went to several different vermouth bars in Girona and la Malabarista was the best. The vermouth selection was excellent. The owner was friendly, provided excellent recommendations, and remembered us on our return visits. She also allowed us to sample a number of different vermouths, which was incredibly kind.

The premises are beautiful and the square where the outside seating space is quiet and picturesque.

We had a fantastic experience at La Malabarista in Girona! They welcomed a group of 16 guys for tapas and vermouth-based cocktails on a Monday afternoon when the place is usually closed, which were absolutely lovely. The hosts were incredibly kind, patient, and tolerant of our lively group. We were genuinely surprised by the quality and creativity of the cocktails — not something we're used to, but we loved them!
