We walked by the restaurant during siesta time when it was closed and thought the interior decor looked beautiful and simple. Then, discovered it was a restaurant that had great reviews, so we made reservations online for the evening which is a must.
They will then reach out on WhatsApp to confirm the tasting menu of your choice with you (7 courses for 60€ or 85€ for 9 courses) which is the only thing they serve.
Upon entering the restaurant, we were the only ones for the evening so we basically received a private dining experience and immaculate service.
Without too much expectations about the food, since we had gone to another highly rated restaurant the night before and it was only mediocre, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality, simplicity, presentation, and creativity of each course that we had that evening.
For instance, we had little bites with foie gras ice cream, cypress used on our desserts, orange cappuccino flower petal in a cream. The courses themselves were simple using seemingly common ingredients at any big restaurant: roast beef, hagfish, cauliflower, potatoes etc. But, the mix of flavors, presentation and the transformation of the ingredients by using textures was very outstanding and complementary.
Hagfish and roast beef were cooked tenderly, and holds its shape and not runny with oils or fats as you cut into it and temperature was kept just warm enough so you can enjoy it with the sauces and sides that accompanied each dish.
Best of all they serve two kinds of Ratafia a local liquor in the 25% - 29% range of alcohol content which paired well as a sip after each course.
We enjoyed each course so much since we’ve been having traditional Spanish foods in most of our meals and this one is definitely a unique one for our books that we are still thinking about the next morning.
After having the tasting menu at an assortment of different Michelin star restaurants in the last 5 years, this one is definitely worthy of a star (in case it doesn’t...
Read moreA small restaurant that we thought was closed but discovered was actually open and had a table for us. The menu was in Catalan but the chef was kind enough to explain in great detail every dish on the menu and his recommendations. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was crafted with so much care and precision, it truly is a magnificent experience. I enjoyed every dish that I tried. The chef spent a lot of time and effort making sure we enjoyed the experience. One of the best culinary experiences I've ever had. I definitely recommend the place!
They do not speak English and it is not a place frequented by tourists. If you can, visit with someone who speaks the language and give this place a go.
My personal favorites at the restaurant were the mushroom rice and the miso white...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about the service and environment at terram, such a gorgeous setting. We had the nine course tasting menu, there were very interesting flavours and they had a lovely twist on Catalan cooking. While the plates were all lovely, they missed the mark (for us) somewhat in terms of flavours coming together, hence a four and not five star review. I would recommend this restaurant but I'm not sure I would go back, albeit we had a lovely...
