König — Restaurant in Girona

Having been before, I knew what to expect. Good quality and value tapas from a chain but a local chain.

My past experience along with the food was a pleasant surprise. This time...definitely not so much. I think my 2 star review is a littke kind - perhaps 1.5. This time we were badly let down by poorly executed food and service that was lacklustre at best.

Ordered 5 tapas. 4 arrived (one we didn't order which was taken away when queried) another arrived (back to 4 again - are you keeping count?)... to be fair, we cleared the plates (almost) awaiting the 5th (which never came) as we were famished from travelling (hence the choice to eat here as it was on the doorstep and easy). The food was just passable except the panko crusted Langoustines were so overlooked they were past dry to the point of tasting burned.

Waiting staff were helpful and polite enough when called to action, but not attentive and seemed disinterested. I should thank the waitress for hearing and helping my attempt at ordering in spanish though.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ¡Excelente experiencia a pesar de la saturación!

Visitamos este restaurante un sábado alrededor de las 17:00 horas y el lugar estaba completamente lleno. Se notaba que faltaba personal (solo había 2/3 de los camareros necesarios) y el equipo estaba desbordado, pero esto no afectó la calidad del servicio.

Quiero destacar especialmente a la camarera que nos atendió (ojalá supiera su nombre para mencionarla), quien mantuvo una actitud increíblemente amable y profesional a pesar del estrés. Mi esposa, que es filipina y una verdadera experta en arroz (¡ella sabe de lo que habla!), pidió el Plato Combinado 17 y quedó encantada: el arroz estaba perfecto (esponjoso y con un punto de sazón excelente) y el salmón estaba en su punto ideal de cocción.

Aunque entendemos lo difícil que debe ser trabajar en esas condiciones de saturación, el equipo logró que nuestra experiencia fuera muy agradable. No tomamos fotos porque preferimos disfrutar el momento, pero nos llevamos un gran recuerdo. ¡Felicitaciones especialmente a esa camarera que nos atendió con tanta paciencia y sonrisas! Sin duda volveremos, aunque probablemente en un horario menos concurrido.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing experience despite being packed!

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday around 5:00 PM and the place was completely full. It was obvious they were understaffed (only about 2/3 of needed waiters were working) and the team was clearly overwhelmed, but this didn't affect service quality.

I want to specially highlight our waitress (I wish I knew her name to mention her), who kept an incredibly friendly and professional attitude despite the stress. My wife, who is Filipina and a true rice expert (she knows what she's talking about!), ordered the Mixed Plate 17 and loved it: the rice was perfect (fluffy with excellent seasoning) and the salmon was cooked to perfection.

Although we understand how difficult it must be to work under such busy conditions, the team managed to make our experience very pleasant. We didn't take photos as we preferred to enjoy the moment, but we took away great memories. Special congratulations to that waitress who served us with so much patience and smiles! We ordered chicken nuggets , 2 burgers and salmon . The burgers were very good for the price . Salmon was okay but the rice wasn't , but the chicken nuggets were terrible when we received we thought it was a compliment and not chicken nuggets because they had 0 chicken in it . Then later we asked where are chicken nuggets and we were told that we already received them . This were probably the worst chicken nuggets that we have tasted in our life . There was no chicken at all ! The service was terrible and we waited for a long time . When asked for a water we received a bottle with a dirty glass .
