El Balcón de San Nicolás - Restaurante — Restaurant in Granada

I rarely write reviews, but this place deserves a warning. From the moment we entered, the service was shockingly rude and unprofessional. Despite several empty tables clearly available, the staff made us wait unnecessarily long without any explanation or acknowledgment.

Once finally seated, things got worse. I tried multiple times to signal that we were ready to order, but the server intentionally ignored us and attended to other customers instead. When I pointed at the menu to ask if we could order toast, the staff abruptly snatched the menu away without a word—and then left us waiting for another ten minutes without follow-up.

Frustrated and feeling completely invisible, we decided to leave without ordering. This was, without exaggeration, the most disrespectful and disappointing restaurant experience I've had in Spain. Do not waste your time...

Went for a sundowner. I got lucky and got a table with a nice view. Service was attentive and very friendly. Obviously, people (tourists like me) come here for the view. Thus, it’s not very cozy and once people have taken their pictures it’s a lot staring at their phones. Of course, this is nothing for the owners to worry about. My table was in the indoor seating (the most (upstairs) - I visited in February and during sundown the doors were closed. I feel the nicer view might be from the outdoor terrace. Haven’t seen the one downstairs. So overall, they’re doing a splendid job. I think drinks are reasonably priced for the location, however I feel if eats were a little more affordable (especially bites for solo travelers who cannot share) more people would...

The view is so magical & unlike the other comments who I’ve seen complaining abt the prices, I think it’s pretty reasonable. The food was tasty so it was worth it. The aubergine dish was recommended to us since it was a Granada specialty but it was the only one we didn’t like. Other than that the service was nice except for that one lady who I think was supposed to be the waiters’ manager. She was glaring all the time & would come around our table & make things awkward. I would say if it wasn’t for the sweet waiters. I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much. Props to them!!! Two Moroccan boys, I noticed that it wasn’t just with us but their communication skills with the other customers was great too. Would definitely recommend....
