I recently celebrated my anniversary at Carmen Mirador De Aixa, and to say that my experience was disappointing would be an understatement. I had high hopes for a special and memorable evening, but unfortunately, the restaurant's poor customer service and their attempt to force us into buying more food completely ruined the occasion.
From the moment we entered the restaurant, the atmosphere seemed promising. The ambiance was charming, and we were excited to indulge in the menu's offerings. However, our encounter with our waiter, Vladimir, quickly turned the evening sour.
We started off by ordering a bottle of cava and food for two people, expecting a delightful meal that would suit the celebratory nature of the occasion. But to our surprise, Vladimir seemed more interested in pressuring us to purchase additional dishes rather than attending to our needs or ensuring our satisfaction.
Throughout the evening, Vladimir persistently tried to upsell us on various menu items, constantly interrupting our conversation and diminishing the intimacy we had hoped for. It became increasingly clear that the restaurant's focus was solely on maximizing profits rather than providing a pleasant dining experience.
Moreover, what should have been a celebratory and joyous occasion turned into a stressful and disappointing affair. Instead of creating a memorable experience, Carmen Mirador De Aixa tarnished our anniversary, leaving us with a bitter aftertaste.
In addition to the subpar customer service, the overall quality of the food failed to impress. It was evident that the kitchen staff was more concerned with rushing out dishes rather than ensuring their flavors and presentation met the restaurant's supposed standards.
Given the substantial number of outstanding restaurants in the area, I would strongly advise against dining at Carmen Mirador De Aixa if you value genuine hospitality, respect for customers' desires, and a truly memorable dining experience. The establishment's attempt to force customers into buying more food and the disappointing service we received during our anniversary celebration is a clear indication of their lack of professionalism and customer-centric values.
On a night that was meant to be special and filled with joy, Carmen Mirador De Aixa and Vladimir managed to turn it into a regrettable experience. Save yourself the disappointment and seek out other establishments that prioritize customer satisfaction and offer an authentic dining experience.
I sincerely hope that the restaurant takes this feedback to heart and works towards improving their service and...
Read moreI used to go to this restaurant whenever I came to Granada, many many times since 2001, and recommended it to everyone. This time too, I decided to take a group of friends with me. I went to their website and submitted a reservation request. No confirmation came for four days. I called three times, but no one answered the phone. I finally went over an hour before my friends were due. No one even welcomed me, and no one offered a seat although my foot is in a cast! The old man just told me “dos minutos” and went back to balancing his books. I sat down on a chair after 10 mins of waiting, because my broken foot hurts! I got shouted out that “that is reserved, that is reserved!” and he did not even let me explain that I am sitting there for my foot, not to occupy the (unprepared) table! Then a waitress comes and asks “what you want?” (!) and I started replying with “I submitted a reservation for 7 people but...” and she cuts me off with “no! Not at this restaurant. No reservation here. You got wrong restaurant!” (Lady! I can find your restaurant with my eyes closed. Have been here over 5 times!)... I try saying “I know, I tried calling you to confirm...” and she cuts me off again with “No reservation here. You have wrong address. People waiting with reservation. No reservation!” All this while, she has not asked my name or asked me if I received an email from them or anything. Just based on me telling her that I submitted the reservation for 7... naturally, I stormed out and took my friends to somewhere else, and at the door, three people witnessing the whole thing also turned back with disgust.
To be honest, the food is average (from previous trips); regular Spanish deal with a chic flair. The prices are way too high. The only things which made me go back was sangria, the view of La Alhambra, and the force of habit! All three are all offered at all of the five or six restaurants around the corners from this one and next to Mirador San Nicholas or other adjoining plazas. So considering the new attitude, I say certainly not worth dealing with jerks and paying high prices for it. I am glad I fell off...
Read moreDisappointed by the Host’s Attitude Despite a Reservation We had high hopes for lunch at Carmen Mirador de Aixa, especially given its stunning location in the Albaicín and the promise of views of the Alhambra. Unfortunately, our experience was soured by the host’s poor attitude and lack of professionalism.
We had made a reservation two days in advance for 13:30, and when we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty. Despite this, the host offered us the worst table—right at the entrance where people were queuing up to be seated . When we kindly asked for a table closer to the window with a view (which was the main reason we chose this restaurant), he told us none were available. The only alternative he offered was a table hidden behind a large indoor tree that completely blocked the view.
He claimed that the better tables were reserved for others who booked earlier, but this didn’t make sense: when we made our reservation online, plenty of time slots were available, from 13 to 16:00 It felt as though he simply didn’t want to accommodate us properly, for reasons unknown. Eventually, we had no choice but to walk away. The host responded with a shrug and complete indifference, as if it didn’t matter that we were leaving. No effort was made to resolve the situation or show any courtesy.
For a restaurant that prides itself on atmosphere and views, it was disappointing to be treated with such disregard. The location may be beautiful, but service and hospitality are just as important—and sadly, that was...
