Came here with high expectations looking at the previous reviews. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Let’s start with the good things which is what I give 2 stars for: the interior is super nice and creates a very calming and relaxing atmosphere. The service is great; the staff was super friendly. Now the disappointing part: the food. It was simply bad cooking. We had the eggs Benedict which were messy. The combination of flavors just doesn’t work. Fried onions, mushrooms (which tasted like coming out of the can), avocado - just too much with the poached egg, the bacon (which just tasted very boring and blend) and the hollandaise sauce which - I’m very confident due to the acidic taste - was not home made. The whole dish just doesn’t work as all flavors (good and bad) are mixed up and create a tasteless and boring dish. The second dish we had was the club sandwich which sounded nice and fresh on the menu but was an even bigger disappointment. Again, many flavors mixed up but don’t come together; overwhelmed by the mayonnaise/aioli (not sure what it was) and just ending up being not enjoyable. This sandwich was accompanied by soggy and greasy potato slices who taste like nothing but oil. Not even the cappuccino was properly made. At the end of every restaurant/cafe visit the question is: would i order this again? In this case here definitely not. Would I come back again? Unfortunately also definitely not. This place is a perfect example for the fact that great architecture and interior with great service is no guarantee...
Read moreThe place has a great atmosphere and I specially like the decor choices, such as the terracotta wall and floor. The service was fast and welcoming. The coffee tastes great! We’ve ordered the egg benedict with salmon which I had two issues with: the dish comes on a very small plate so its difficult to eat it without doing a mess personally, I think the egg benedict sauce does not work well with guacamole. The guacamole is way too strong and takes over flavours. If it were up to me I’d only use smashed avocado as a base instead of the guacamole. Overall I’ve had much better egg benedicts in the past so I wouldn’t order it here again.
Regardless, we’ve enjoyed the place (the music was a bit loud) so we will most likely return. However, if you’re coming to eat egg benedict bear in mind that you might be disappointed. They have plenty of other options though and you can also just sit for a drink. The place seems to be very popular for tourists so it’s advised that you book a...
Read moreOverall, I'm rating this place a bit lower because, in my opinion, it's highly overrated. I've been to many places that serve brunch, and it seems to me that this particular place is mainly targeting tourists who will come and go, never to return. This is why the quality of the dish and food is lower than it could be. Indeed, the photos match everything advertised, but in reality, the food is quite bland and uninspiring. For example, the tostadas were not drizzled with olive oil, nor was olive oil provided at the table, and the eggs were completely unsalted. I understand this is a matter of taste, but it greatly differs from other places where I've tried brunch. Also, we were served a pancake with cream and Nutella, and they completely forgot to add the cream. The coffee was utterly tasteless. Overall, it's not a bad place if you're not fussy about food, but if you want to treat yourself to a morning brunch, in my opinion, you'd be better off finding...
