We were cursed at, grabbed at, and forced to leave for no good reason. Save yourself time and do not come to this coffee shop. I came to Despiertoo with the intention of getting a snack and a coffee while I did a little bit of work. My friend and I ordered two lattes and a chia seed bowl. When we pulled out our computers, they said that we weren't allowed to work there because they thought we would be there for too long. We politely responded saying we wouldn't stay for longer than 30 minutes and they said that it then would be okay. After 20 minutes of being in the coffee shop, they asked us to leave because I was doing work on my computer. We said that we were going to leave in 10 minutes (as we promised in the beginning) and also pointed out that there were multiple other parties that were there long before we got there and were still sitting there talking. He said that it didn't matter, that it was "their policy" and that we had to leave immediately only because my computer was out (also considering that we had only been there 20 minutes). We said okay and started packing up our stuff and he continued making aggressive comments at us making sure we left. We expressed that we didn't think this was fair and he progressively got more upset. He swore at us and too-closely followed us out. When my friend was holding the door open for me to leave, but he physically touched/grabbed my friend in an aggressive way. This is the worst I have ever been treated by an employee and was very uncomfortable. Would not recommend this...
Read morePerfect cortado! Quite possibly the best I have ever had, and I have had a lot of them.
The espresso was done exceptionally well, with good beans, and the milk texture was gorgeous. This is a seriously talented barista who really knows his stuff. And he's very nice as well!
Not only is the coffee excellent, but the aesthetics are modern and minimal but not alienating. Quite a nice balance of earthy ceramics, modernism, and elegant third wave coffee. The space itself is very open and empty, and there isn't a great deal of seating, nor are the seats particularly comfortable but this is not a spot to sit all day and work on your laptop. That much is clear. (And more power to any café that does this! It is a relief for those of us who want to enjoy a warm cup of coffee and can never find seats because of all the digital nomads and hipsters!) How awesome is it to just walk in, grab a drink, and be able to sit down to enjoy it right away without fighting for a seat? Love it.
I hope this place is successful but not to popular that it loses its charms and character it has now. Truly one of my favourite cafés I...
Read moreThis place has friendly service (also can speak English for tourists). The flat white was very good, you can tell it's artisanal and is probably the best one I've had in Granada so far. Also enjoyed the matcha latte. You can choose from brown sugar or sweetener to add. There are different plant milks available as well.
The cookies are very tasty. I had the peanut butter flavor and the oatmeal ginger. My daughter loved them too. For food I ordered the avocado and mozzarella toast. This was not so good, it was extremely salty. It tasted like the person who made it added salt, got distracted and came back and added it a second time. It was almost inedible.
If you're not a fan of communal seating, don't come here. There isn't a lot of space for seating and the stools are very low. The stools also seem cheap? They are bare minimum metal and I think they were going for that aesthetic but it just doesn't look good.
Service was very friendly! I would come again, but probably only for takeaway. I don't think it's a place you can comfortably stay for a longer time. It feels crowded because of the...
