Incredibly rude woman all negative reviews are complaining about. Perhaps the boss, judging by her sense of entitlement and the feeling that she can judge people immediately without other staff intervening.
The bar is in a touristy area, in case you don't like to walk through very busy roads), but that's ok, because despite other places being packed, this one is mostly empty, you'll not struggle to get a table!
So we go in, ADDRESS them in their language, as we have done everywhere else we went (just mentioning this as the woman was so sensitive about it). The fella at the bar responds in Spanish, he had already realised we're English so proceeds to talk to us in English, obviously, we respond in English...
Que the angry woman... explaining to us the beers they have (in Spanish). Sweetheart, I've learned bits and bobs and still am learning Spanish, some tourists are actually doing their best, but I won't apologise for not being fluent and knowing words to the level you do, especially when you talk that quickly. Most of the bad reviews on this page are about service. Be a dear and take a hint will you.
She was THE ONLY extremely rude one there. All other staff members were lovely and were asking us question in Enhlish about where we're from and what we liked about Spain. Nice fella, felt a bit awkward as that woman was pretending to do work but actually listening into the conversation. You are working with tourists with limited Spanish knowledge. Appreciate the basics and get over yourself. I get you might deal with some horrible entitled people walking through the doors, but do your best and not be that quick to judge. Thank you for...
Read moreWhat a place! We stumbled upon it when we walked along the river from Sacromonte towards the city center. It's on the same row with several generic tourist places but something told us it was different. Great decor and ambiance, vintage style with a lot of old wood furnishing and a few exposed brick walls. They call themselves a craft beer bar but the food here was terrific. We had a marvelous 'do it yourself' taco where you get slowly-cooked pork ribs, pull the meat and create your own taco with the supplied vegetables and sauces. A second plate of slowly-cooked pork sirloin with pistachio was even better, both moist and tender, one of the best dishes we had in all of our trip to Spain. Beer, tapas (free with our drinks) and dessert were great as well. Service was homely, you do need to wait a bit but all worked well eventually. The only thing we were "sorry" for was that due to the huge portions we were not able to sample more dishes... highly...
Read moreWe enjoyed La Hermosa's food and awesome service after visiting Granada on Sep 2024. The location, atmosphere and prices offer a convenient and very satisfying reward for walking down the Alhambra road to the city center. We entered a bit hangry and left with a satisfied belly, a happy heart and an enhanced holiday mood: The beer and white wine (house wine) were very tasty and a perfect match for the tapas we had (mixed croquetas, ensaladilla rusa and a delicious Salmorejo). BONUS POINT: A friendly chat with the chef/owner made him realized I am Mexican and he shared his private stash of morita-chilli salsa macha. He also has a Valentina bottle available for...
