I'm going to be as balanced in my review as possible as my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. Starting with the positives, there was no evidence of the poor service cited by some other guest reviews. My experience was quite the opposite. For example, the service was prompt, efficient and very polite. My son ordered gazpacho soup, which he didn't like, so the chap offered to change his order at no extra cost so that reaction didn't match some complaints I read. My view was that was very fair and reasonable by the staff, it isn't always the case in any city/country so well done for that. Everyone in our group said their food was either nice or ok, I think the quality was acceptable and food largely tasty.
The atmosphere is great, it is one the beat placed restaurant's you'll find in the city and I think this makes the experience. Get there early for the best seats.
On the negatives, the set menu portions could have been a bit more generous but were ok. It's a tourist area and I think they are comparible to others in the town. Certainly better than many tourist restaurants in the likes of Rome. A big bug bear for me is when staff spill food or drinks, so I was very upset when a guy spilled hot coffee on my bare legs and a pair of my favourite shoes. He was very apologetic and cleaned up. However, I did want to speak with the manager because I don't think spills like this are acceptable. Again there were apologies and I sat down nursing my frustration. He did later remove some drinks from our bill as a gesture of goodwill and we parted on amicable terms. I think given the nature of passing tourist trade, on balance he did show effort. Hopefully in daylight my shoes will be fine and my legs are ok so let's chalk that up.
That unfortunate event aside, they earned a well deserved 4 stars, probably could be 5 stars but I'm not giving a 5 star after a spill. I think this is fair and don't be put off by the negative comments of some guests, I have no idea where they came from and sound like ranting. Hope my miner grumble...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE. THEY HAVE POOR REVIEWS FOR A REASON. Poor and very rude service. After the first course we must have been forgotten. A 10 top was sat and received their main service during that time. We asked twice after that for the main course and ticket, and then to-go because it was raining on us and we had been waiting way too long. The whole time we were very polite but the waiter was rude and finally brought the desert (had to ask two more times) but it was not to-go, which he said he could and would do, because “You said you wanted to eat it here.” Then he told us to leave and kept speaking about us as he walked off. He wasn’t man enough to say it to me, as I stood there waiting his return. Just poor poor poor service. We ended up paying 31 euros for a sangria, water, and the first course. Pathetic. DO NOT EAT HERE. THEY HAVE POOR REVIEWS FOR A REASON. I wish we would have researched prior but we see simply out for a walk and decided to give them a try. That was a poor decision on our part. I hope they can improve and treat future customers with some minimal level of basic decency and respect. Or, if they wish to tell more customers to leave and then continue bad-mouthing them they will at least be man enough own it. Please improve and don’t prey on tourists...
When it comes to tourist traps this most be one of the typical places to avoid in Granada. my fault that I didn't check its score in Google maps before we sat. We had the terrible idea of taking the "Menu del Día", which included first&second dish plus dessert and brewd, excluding the drink, wich for your information dear readers, normal Spain stablishment includes drinks. All for 14€. Ok, not the best deal but good for us to have a quick lunch. They have an unequipped (no fans, no water spray) terraza outside. The food and the service was not bad but for the price was it was pretty basic and slow, even when it wasn't peak lunch hour. On top of the food, we order a pint of beer which was adviced by one of the waiters and told that was 5€. Surprisingly, at the moment of paying, the pint was charged at 6€ and we were told that it won't change the price since it wasn't advertised anywhere in the menu and that I could point which of the waiters told me the price. Fine, I paid the extra euro but it's now about that, it's the greediness of the restaurant admin and the cover of the waiters to mock the tourist because be aware that 6euros a pint is freaking expensive! Even to Madrid cost of goods. I regret we had lunch here and don't recommend the place...
