l'apéro — Restaurant in Ibiza

We visited this place one year ago and came back because we had such a great memory of it. Unfortunately, this time our experience was very disappointing.

We had reserved a table for 21:30, but when we arrived it was not ready. We ordered some drinks - a few bottles of water and two large cava sangrias for seven people. The water was served, and then the problems began: we were told that we were not allowed to sit there without ordering food. This had never been mentioned when we made the reservation.

We explained that in that case, we would just finish the water and cancel the sangria. However, as it seemed the revenue from the sangria was welcome after all, we were told they would “check again.” Without any further communication, the cava sangrias were suddenly brought to the table - followed by the check almost immediately. At that point, we were indirectly forced to go, with only a brief and rather hollow “sorry” from the staff.

I attended with my friend, asked for the drinks menu and was told that they didn't have one. We ordered two single gins and lemonade. Once finished, I asked for the bill and saw that they were attempting to charge €30! I asked to speak to the Manager and informed her that I was unhappy as we had only just come from inside the walls of the old town and had paid €17 for two cocktails in comparison to two single measures of gin. The manager was very abrupt and told us that she had a nice spot in the town and could charge whatever prices she wished. I told her that I was only willing to pay €20, which she agreed and rudely told us not to come back, whilst purposely touching me on my arm, as if to try and intimidate me.

I fully expect to pay higher prices at more exclusive locations, but this small bar was not one of those places. I didn't eat any food so this rating is solely on the service received by...

Horrendous experience. The food tasted of toilet chemicals, and my friend vomited while eating. We were then charged full price, accused of eating too slowly which made the food turn bad, acused of being drunk or on drugs (which we were absolutely not) and then the owner threatened to call the police on us to recover the money for the food that was inedible!! We were then banned for life from this horrific establishment and told to have a nice life. They didn't know we spoke Spanish and were swearing about us in front of us. The owner also had a heated argument with others in the restaurant while my friend was vomiting and seemed intoxicated herself. No menu means who knows what you will pay for drinks- house wine was €44!! What an awful evening, and we had to stop at a Spar for food on the way home as all the restaurants were closed after we left, so no dinner!! Avoid...
