Tucked away on a quiet street in the heart of Ibiza Town, mere steps from a bustling plaza, La Brasa Restaurant stands as a delightful surprise. Contrary to any initial impressions of it being a tourist trap, this enchanting establishment offers a genuine taste of Ibiza.

The restaurant’s exterior modestly conceals its inner beauty. As you step in, you’re greeted by an exquisite courtyard dining area canopied with ancient wisteria, its old Spanish-style tables inlaid with tiles and adorned with fresh flowers. The interior is just as mesmerizing, with a pristine old wooden bar and tables draped in thick white linen, all under the warm glow of subtle lamp lighting.

The culinary journey at La Brasa is a reflection of the extensive and reasonably priced Ibicenc menu. The Chipirones, small fried and battered squid, were a standout starter, cooked to perfection and not a bit greasy. The Solomillo for the main course was a revelation in itself, cooked medium, with faultless taste and texture that you’d expect from a specialty meat restaurant. (Even the presence of tinned button mushrooms among the array of mushrooms, topping the Solomillo couldn’t detract from the overall excellence of the meal)

The staff’s service was exemplary - quick, friendly, and eager to accommodate. This level of attentiveness added a layer of warmth to the already inviting ambiance.

The dining experience peaked with the dessert - a cheesecake so light and flavorsome that it left an indelible impression - I am happy to herald it as one of the best on the island in two decades. Paired with a glass of Dolce Mataro sweet red dessert wine, it was the perfect finale to a meal that far surpassed expectations.

Top tip - As much as La Brasa excels in offering a memorable lunch experience, there’s an air of romance to the venue at night that beckons for another visit. It's truly beautiful!

While the restaurant might lose some of its intimate charm in the busy summer months, it remains a hidden gem, especially as a winter retreat. La Brasa has not only met but exceeded expectations, evolving from a place of wary curiosity to a favored destination for future...

was introduced to La Brasa d'Eivissa on the recommendation of a dear friend, and I'm delighted to report that it lived up to the hype. This establishment seems to be the go-to spot for locals and Spaniards who truly know their way around the culinary delights of the city. It was such a pleasant change of pace not to be surrounded by the typical swarm of tourists one might expect in many Ibiza eateries. This distinct crowd indeed elevated the entire experience from our previous dining adventures on the island.

The gastronomy at La Brasa d'Eivissa is nothing short of exemplary. Our culinary journey included the classic Paella, delectable mussels, an array of diverse tapas, and a selection of fine Spanish wines. To cap off our meal, we enjoyed two perfectly blended Mojitos. Each dish was executed flawlessly, leaving our palates satiated and longing for more.

What truly made our evening memorable, apart from the food, was the impeccable service. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, making us feel as though we were the only patrons in the restaurant. Their dedication to our comfort and enjoyment was evident throughout the night.

The ambiance of La Brasa d'Eivissa only added to the allure. Nestled in the backyard of a traditional home, the decor transported us back in time, reminiscent of a charming old village. The entire setup, combined with the ambient lighting and soft music, created a magical setting that complements the culinary delights.

Should my travels bring me back to Ibiza, a return visit to La Brasa d'Eivissa is undoubtedly on the cards. To anyone seeking an authentic Ibizan dining experience replete with impeccable service, sumptuous food, and a mesmerizing setting, look no further. La Brasa d'Eivissa is the epitome of culinary excellence...

La Brasa in Ibiza was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences of my life.

The service was atrocious from start to finish. The staff were disinterested and dismissive, but the real shock came from the manager, who was incredibly rude and completely unprofessional. We ordered a paella, and what we received was essentially a soup — a soggy, watery mess that bore no resemblance to a proper paella.

I was dining with a Spanish friend who immediately pointed out that this was completely unacceptable. The fish was rubbery, the rice was floating in broth — it was inedible. When we politely told the waiter this wasn’t right and asked what could be done, we were told, ā€œWe can cook it a bit more so the water evaporates.ā€ Seriously?

They brought it back totally overcooked — the rice was mush, and the seafood even worse. We didn’t touch it. From that moment on, they ignored us completely. No one came to check in, to apologize, or to offer an alternative. After 20 minutes, a different waiter (not even ours) came to ask if we were done with our untouched plates.

They never offered dessert, coffee, nothing. Just the bill — full price, of course. No gesture of goodwill, no apology, nothing. And to top it off, they even made us exit through the back door, as if we were an inconvenience they wanted to get rid of.

We paid 40 euros each for a dish we didn’t even eat and service that was absolutely disgraceful. The manager didn’t care at all. This place is a tourist trap with zero respect for the customer. Save your money and your time — go literally...
