We chose SLVJ to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and I regret to say it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, the service was poor, the atmosphere was lacking, and the food was shockingly underwhelming.

When we arrived, I mentioned to the waiter that it was my boyfriend’s birthday, but nothing was acknowledged throughout the evening. The restaurant was pretty empty, with no atmosphere at all. When our drinks finally arrived, they were served in the wrong glasses and looked completely unappealing. My drink was also incorrect – when I politely flagged it, the waiter argued with me and insisted the order was correct, even showing me the system. It took a long time to get a replacement, which still tasted and looked awful.

We had to chase down staff to place our food order, and at one point, were even shushed by a waiter. Another staff member eventually came over, but offered no guidance on the menu. There was no effort to explain the dishes or make recommendations, and the service felt chaotic and indifferent.

All of the food was rushed out at once within minutes and what did arrive was confusing and poorly presented. We weren’t even sure what we were eating. The sushi was some of the worst I’ve seen – completely unappetising. I had to repeatedly ask for the wine, which only arrived after most of the food was on the table.

We were so uncomfortable and disappointed that we just wanted to leave. Because we were with a friend, we paid the full bill and service charge to avoid a scene – but frankly, we shouldn’t have had to. It was overpriced, careless, and ruined what should have been a special evening. The staff were rude and unprofessional, and I left feeling completely dissatisfied.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience warrants one. I would strongly recommend others avoid SLVJ, and I do hope management reflects on this and considers some form of compensation – being charged for that level of service and food is honestly...

The location is good and the host was attentive, but unfortunately the food was not that great and specially the staff was not very professional. Waited for the Edamame dish to being served for over 45 min. which finally came after asking for it three times to three different staff members which did not seem to care. Also ordered Sangria, they told me at first that it had to be ordered by the jar instead of by the glass as we had ordered initially which was not a problem, then 20 min. later when we asked for it again the other server told us that they did not even have it on the menu any more. What made even worse is that they actually try and charge us for it on the bill. Not even an apology for the confusion or much empathy from the servers. They are some kind of a fraud this place - if you looking for work in Ibiza watch out for this place please, do not work here, they did not pay their workers the last months of salaries - my boyfriend did work here summer 2025 and they did not pay him his last salary, also many of the other workers said that they haven't been payed. They are answering them all the time some excuses, it is a crime to send an invoice and not to pay the workers in Spain. And Ibiza is not cheap to live, one month of salary is a a big loss of money and working hours without being payed. If you look for a good place to eat look for something else dont support a place that do this...
