TL; DR Go to the other restaurant as La Gabriela is disappointing.

We visited in mid February on a cloudy Tuesday. Restaurant was not busy, maybe 30% tables we taken. We ordered different food, including menu del dia and some tapas. Tapas and drinks were served pretty fast, but suddenly, after serving first dish from menu del dia, the staff forgot about us. I had to remind about my second dish. It took them ages to make it. The full visit took so long that I decided to pay at the bar without having coffee and desert from menu del dia. The waiter knew that I was waiting forever to get the food, he didn't even bother to offer some discount or simply say sorry.

A couple from the next table was sitting for 10 minutes and nobody even came to them. They left.

The food: it was way below average during our 8 day stay in Andalucia.

There are different restaurants on the same square so go somewhere else instead of Casa La Gabriela. Even, McDonald's will be a...

This looked a great place to eat, nice location, the menu looked good...wow did we regret our choice. The staff were terrible, no greeting, was asked immediately what we wanted, I asked for a menu and was glared at and it was thrown infront of us, we felt so uncomfortable and i wish we had just left then and there. It was not busy and to get their attention was hard work. We ordered the goats cheese salad to share for 1st plate, my husband ordered the burger and I ordered the fried chicken for 2nd plate. The hamburger came first, then later the salad...after 30 mins I asked where my chicken was and explained my husband had finished eating 30 mins ago (i speak spanish so this was not an issue of miscommunication). No apology, no acknowledgement, he came back and slammed down my lunch...a couple of chicken nuggets and chips, it was like a cheap kids menu option, no flavour and nasty. We asked for the bill, which took forever to arrive and left as soon...

Incompetent waiter We ordered a set menu for two people, and the waiter told us that two drinks were included. The drinks we ordered were a glass of red wine and sparkling water. I also ordered an extra Coke, fully aware that we would pay for it. However, when we received the bill, he charged us for the red wine, which was 2.80 euros. I told him this was incorrect, but he argued that the wine was not included in the menu and insisted we had to pay for it. After that, he walked away and refused to deal with us any further, so we called the apprentice waitress and paid the bill. It wasn’t even about the 2.80 euros—it was about him accepting his mistake and correcting the bill. We would have given him a good tip. But in the end, it’s his loss… and now the restaurant gets a bad review due to his incompetence.

Great little find in the centre of Jerez. Child friendly and staff were excellent. Food was great and could find any faults with the service or cost. The little square is picturesque with lots of little bars dotted around with locals enjoying themselves. The restaurant is overlooked by a medieval watchtower covered with bullet holes from the Franco era. Happily visit again.

Amazing food, excellent service, and a great place to sit during the day or the evening. There are many dishes I'd like to try, but I ended up choosing a couple of tapas to taste different ones. Especially the potato salad with prawns was just perfect... like "wow"... I'll be back here, and I recommend it to anyone. Service was just perfect, btw.
