I was very excited to go to Bar La Lonja as it has recently been refurbished and the decor looked great. There are lovely views over the marina and I was keen to try out the new menu. My friend had just been 3 days previously and we went for my birthday meal at lunchtime on Monday at 13.30, with no reservation, but we were sat straight away. When we arrived there was only one other table in our area and we imagined we would be served quickly, as we ordered straight away: grilled pork sirloin with vegetables and spaghetti with salmon and prawns. We waited, and waited, and waited. During this wait the tables around us sat down, ordered and received their food: two other couples and a family with of four. We were quite surprised at this long wait and had to call a waiter to ask about our food. It finally arrived and the excuse for the delay was the sirloin needed cooking. The sirloin was a little overdone but by this point I was starving and just tucked in. Unfortunately, my friend's pasta dish arrived and the salmon and prawn spaghetti had been cooked with cream. This was not specified on the menu at all, and as she is allergic to cream we were lucky she hadn't eaten anything. The waiter's first response was: 'this is how it's cooked in all of Corralejo'. We explained it hadn't been detailed in the menu, and grudgingly he took it back and replaced it. When my friend's dish finally arrived, it felt like the pasta and ingredients had just been rinsed over and put back in the plate. Who knows. We asked for the bill and again, tables around us received their bill but we were left there for a long while, so eventually I got up and paid at the till. The waitress there was slouched over her mobile phone...like she didn't really want to be there. All through covid lockdown I saw the building work, the outstanding graffiti and decorating and I was very much looking forward to supporting a local business opening during a pandemic. Unfortunately I won't be going back again as I felt the service was below par, there was no clear communication between the various waiters and I had to wait more than 40 minutes for my food. The views are great but the food was not worth it.

Very friendly, accommodating staff who made us feel welcome (Greek waiter) but not overwhelmed or hassled. Our waiter spoke very good English. We had; Sea bass with La Lonja sauce with rice and potatoes, grilled Sea Bass with salad, Swordfish with salad and potatoes, and Sole fish with salad and potatoes. The fish was superbly seasoned and perfectly cooked. I think the strangest thing was the Sea Bass being served with rice and potatoes, I think rice or potatoes with a small salad on the side would be better. No sign of a pudding, commercial lollipops. We all loved the food and we would eat there again. Loos could do with being improved, one ladies loo didn’t have a seat and the other’s seat was loose. Not much space once the door was closed.

Restaurant is situated overlooking the harbour and gets the sun up until the afternoon. Overall it was nice, staff relatively friendly, service a little slow, one person takes drinks, another food, get bill they walk off, come back ask cash or card, goes off comes back.... We had fish tacos, this is essentially fried chunks of fish, not a taco in sight so be aware this is not a fish taco. We then had fish of the day and grilled seabass, fish of the day was fresh, sea bass not (I was informed of this) served with canarian potatoes.and mojo with small salad. Fresh fish lovely, sea bass meh...I'll order fresh in future. Good spot for a drink and a snack perhaps, music too loud for my tastes for lunch and such a nice setting.

The positive side of this place is the food we ordered was good and well cooked. However me and my friends we experienced the worst customer service ever. At the beginning when we came for lunch we asked for 3 seats and they kept asking if it’s for eating..what else we would be there for :/ then they gave us the menu list and not even 2 minutes they came to ask for orders. Of course because it was still early for us to decide what to eat we asked them if they can give us 5 more minutes and they sarcastically in Spanish said that we’ll take 20 years, thinking we wouldn’t understand that. Then when the waiter came back, my friend asked a question on how big a portion of an item was and he rudely replied saying drinks first. We looked at the drinks and there was none on the menu list they gave us before and then the guy gave us a separate list for drinks and left clearly irritated, which we were supposed to be. Another reason I don’t recommend this place is because it’s full of flies around the place as it is near the port, and I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t like for insects to touch your food. Accidentally when I was trying to move away a fly from our food I dropped my bottle of ice tea on the floor and when I tried to ask for a replacement the guy questioned us what happened there and left before even I could ask him for my drink. And they didn’t even clean it later when we were leaving!!! Worst place ever. You can surely find much more nice and beautiful restaurants along the...
