A Lovely Evening at Restaurante La Placita in Music Square, Corralejo
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 out of 5 stars)
During a recent trip to Corralejo, my family and I spontaneously decided to visit Restaurante La Placita, which is located in the lively Music Square. Overall, I feel that a four-star rating accurately reflects our experience.
The atmosphere was a major highlight of our visit. The Music Square location provided a vibrant backdrop, with live music and bustling crowds. This made for a fun, energetic evening that we thoroughly enjoyed.
The staff at Restaurante La Placita deserve special mention for their excellent service. They were not only attentive and prompt but also very friendly, especially towards our children. We felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout our meal.
As for the food, we ordered the mixed grill and mixed fish, both intended for two people. (4 of us) The fish was well-prepared and enjoyable, while the mixed grill was satisfactory but not exceptional. I would describe the quality of the grilled meat as being slightly above that of a typical Wetherspoons or Harvester. It was certainly not a bad meal, but it didn't necessarily exceed our expectations.
The restaurant's popularity was evident, as it became extremely busy within an hour of our arrival. Given the high level of demand, I suspect that some of the food may have been precooked and reheated on the grill. Nevertheless, our meal was still pleasant overall.
In conclusion, our evening at Restaurante La Placita was a memorable one, thanks largely to the fantastic atmosphere and exceptional service. The food was decent, though not outstanding, and I believe that the ambiance of the Music Square may have influenced the pricing. Overall, I think that a four-star rating is fair for our experience at Restaurante La Placita...
Read moreWe came here two nights in a row because we really enjoyed the food. Cocktails are great too. And the restaurant's spot is perfect for the live music that happens perhaps every night at this little square. They also play enjoyable Latin music once the live music stops. The cleanliness of bathrooms wasn't perfect but still ok considering it was very busy at both occasions. Then we have the service to rate. That's where they lost the star. They lost it to the fact that both nights the waiters only keep attention to the tables til the time you get your food. Many times on both visits it happened we couldn't get any waiter to order extra drinks and then again also on both visits, we waited 10 minutes to be able to catch someone to ask for the bill. When we asked, then we had to ask again after another 5 minutes because they had always forgotten. At the second visit we had to ask for the bill 3x from 3 different people and it quite leaves a bitter feeling in your mouth. At both occasions we could see that it happens to all diners as they just come with the bill to pay at the bar, clearly because they don't want to wait any longer. We didn't find this pattern satisfying, therefore I hope the owner will focus on this to maximise the...

We sent the cold one back, they reheated the bitten pieces and sent it back to us without the accompaniments. We sent it back again, and it was returned as is with one extra piece - again stone cold. The mains were better (we ordered lamb shoulder x 2, pizzas x 2, steak & pasta), however they missed off a side and tried charging for it (so check your bill!), the food temperature was tepid, steaks were not served on a hot plate (unlike most restaurants in the square), the pasta portion was tiny, and the pizzas were soggy. The cocktails were great however! 2 stars feels a little harsh for the food, but compared to next door, it was miles apart. The service also gets two stars, would have been one, if not for the sales guy who draws you in and is very personable.
The atmosphere has 5 stars because it's in music square, which is by far, the best atmosphere in corralejo!
In summary, its ok but there are better restaurants. Definitely try El Pescador which in my opinion, and the opinion of my family/friends, is better quality,...
