Restaurante Patai beach | Corralejo — Restaurant in La Oliva

What a great Sunday experience.

Whenever our family goes on holiday we make a point of finding somewhere to enjoy a Sunday lunch. It’s a full on family day, good food, great setting, wine, children playing, a day that has no end.

On our last trip we chose Patai beach Restaurant in Corralejo.

We were not to be disappointed. The staff set us up tables on the sand. This was great because it allowed the children to play freely throughout the day. They were very friendly and attentive. The food was top quality, plentiful, hot & fresh.

The Sangria was a good quality, not overly fruity or sweet. Little heavy on the ice for my liking but was more than acceptable for the price.

Wines were served as you would like, chilled or at ambient.

We had a varied selection of mostly Spanish cuisine. The mixed Tapas, this was a delicate mix of nine dishes hot and cold. Fried Pepper, Crispy fish, Meatballs, Cheese and tomato, Avocado with spicy prawns to name but a few.

Side dished of deep fried baby squid, and chilly prawns rounded out the table before an amazing Mixed seafood Paella arrived. It was truly an amazing afternoon. The restaurant also offers clean modern toilets. If you get a little chilli in the wind late in the day, they will even provide you beach blankets to keep the chill off.

We were encouraged in by the enthusiastic lady outside who seated us on the beach as requested. The service from then was poor. The house wine we ordered wasn’t chilled so they up sold for the more expensive option. Then we were told a long time after ordering the food that the octopus was off. I then had to go and find him to get a menu to change the order. When the food finally came it was ok. Nothing particularly special but it stopped this being a two star review. Comically they even sent out a mistake dish which they then let us have gratis. But when the bill came we were still charged for the octopus which we’d not even been able to have. This place is amazing!! I recently went to Corralejo on honeymoon and most evenings would visit this bar. The food is delicious, the drinks fairly priced and the staff are so lovely! The staff really made the bar extra special; especially Marco who always greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel so welcome. Although there are other good beach bars in Corralejo, in my opinion this was by far the best! We're going to miss sitting at our favourite spot on the beach and watching the sunset.
