Illari Puerto is a gem sandwiched between a couple of big-name restaurants. If you love exceptional food for lunch or dinner at reasonable prices and friendly attentive staff, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!! We had dinner here for an exceptional experience. The white asparagus with an interesting pickle of red onions and herbs was very good. (I would have used a bit more garlic as the olive oil is great from dipping). The muchroom croquettes were delicious! The brie heated over bread and kelp was mediocre. For the main course, we ordered Octopus galecian style, and it was OUTSTANDING!! We had a drink before and a bottle of a Ribera wine with nicely complimented the food. Chefs Arthur and Jimena turn out great dishes here. What sets this place apart from a few big-name places we have eaten at are the friendly staff who go out of their way to make your experience memorable. They were Auxi, Andrea, Quique, Natalia, and Proscilla, who made this a great night for us!! Illari Puerto works hard to stand out from the shadows of its big name siblings, and it succeeds. Read moreWe absolutely loved this restaurant and everything about it. The food was traditional but presented with a modern twist. We savoured every bite of the two tapa we enjoyed- pork cheek and pan fried red tuna presented in a small rustic bread roll. We chose an open shrimp and asparagus omelette and Andalusian aubergine with a caramelised nut topping which was cooked whole and served w a scrumptious tomato sauce. Muy rico. The camarero was so charming and the restaurant filled up very quickly. My advice would be to get there early or make a reservation. Prices were better than reasonable considering the standards this...
