We went on Tuesday night and was seated immediately since it was empty. I’m not sure how Google Maps said that it was more busy than ususl. Only 2-3 groups of people.

The service was amazing with a nice selection of wine bottles. The wine bottles in Madrid are so cheap. I thought it was charged per glass too but the lady looked at us funny when we asked.

The Cochinillo 5/5. I have tried my shares of roasted suckling pig and this is the Spanish version. It has soup underneath and the meat is so soft and buttery, creamy on the side. It is now my favorite meal yet since the last 4 days.

French fries 3/5. they came as a side with the suckling pig. The staff said we could have potatoes or salad. I thought it would be balls of mini potatoes, not fries.

Garlic mushrooms 5/5. The sautéed mushrooms in garlic is a new way to cook mushroom, uniquely rich in flavor. You have to try mushrooms dishes in Madrid.

Matarromera 3/5 is a red wine that I ordered to pair with my meat. It...

Return visit to this restaurant and very disappointing. Went early for lunch and ordered a mixed salad to share as a starter and combine with the quarter of suckling pig. Waited for the French fries at least 10 minutes asking three times to be told the kitchen was under pressure. Coordination zero to combine main course and a plate of chips. Dessert shared and this idea that good service is to hurry you up to leave the table is not professional. When you're charging 16.75€ for a mixed salad for two persons when the menu states mixed salad no mention of per person. We are fully aware Madrid is expensive but the bill left a bad taste and one that isn't to be repeated. Google should change your rating of two €€ symbols to three €€€...

My pronounciation giving me away, I was given a menu in English and the staff were happy to accommodate my limited Spanish. I tried the suckling pig and roasted vegetables. The food was very tasty and I was sorry not to be able to finish it all, the portion size being too big for me. A glass of Rioja washed it down very well. I was too full to try one of the desserts, but the coffee was excellent. I chose to sit outside, so my experience of the ambience is limited by the fact that I was looking at a stone-block wall, part of the public walkway. If it were possible to hang some flower-filled planters, it would make so...

Service try to oversell the experience and it makes it a little unusual, but the amazing food at a not-so-high price compensates. I shared both "Morcilla de Burgos" (Burgos' Blood Sausage) and Chorizo as appetizers, my heart goes to the side of the blood sausage though this one contains rice in contrast with French and Argentinian ones. And for main dish the shared dishes were "Cochinillo" (Sucking Pig) and "Cordero al horno" (Oven Roasted Lamb), the pig was good but the lamb was simply beyond words. If you are ever here, they'll try to get you on the pig but if possible try the lamb, no regrets on that one

We were initially concerned that this might be a tourist trap after reading reviews upon arrival. To avoid unexpected charges, we asked for the bread to be removed and clarified whether the *Pimiento de Padrón* and *Pan con Tomate* placed on our table were complimentary. The *jamón ibérico* exceeded our expectations in portion size and taste—it was quite enjoyable. The *suckling pig* was decent, though a bit too fatty for us to finish, even with the two-person portion. *Tip:* Always confirm whether any item placed on your table comes with an additional charge, as nothing should be assumed to be free here.
